Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Hope the boys don’t cop it either. Benji in the eyes of most of these guys is an idol. He’s been exactly where Galvin has been and been through the wringer through clubs and never played up off field. The bloke is would be loved by these young poly boys.

This could be something that unites the team if played right. Hope we speak to the nrl directly about him and our options of dropping him etc
Yea true . Especially this weekend . It could galvanise the boys to be like . This kid thinks he’s above us , watch us tear the eels apart”.

The only way forward for Galvin at the club is if he fronts the playing group and speaks authentically to them that whilst he won't be there in '27, he is committed to putting in 110% with them and is focused on being the best team mate he can be. That needs to happen today!
No way he can talk his way out of the hole he and his manager have dug , when u come up and say it’s the coach I thick is useless, there’s no come back , the coach can’t tolerate that nor can the players who support the coach

I'm philosophical about it. I don't think Lachy will handle - or his parents for that matter - not being glorified because that's all they have ever known. They have made their position clear and I believe that we have players that can do just as good a job as Lachy that will be more beneficial to the balance of the team and not distracted by Lachy Galvins prospective future.

Great stance by the club.

The worst part (and prob on purpose by Galvin camp) is saying the reason is coaching. This automatically creates tension among the paying group which we’ve already seen (Pole on Insta, Jarome just put a post of of most the boys excluding Galvin)

This makes it untenable moving forward. No doubt that’s the game plan to get an early release.

The contract system in the nrl is an absolute joke.

I live in Vic and although I don’t like AFL, they are run 1000 times better than NRL who look like a squabble when it comes to this stuff.
It’s only a joke if the club folds. Penrith and Melbourne don’t fold. The hold the player to their contract unless and until they get an outcome they are happy with. Clubs normally fold because they can’t afford the cap space being taken up by a highly paid player who is sooking and not putting in or because they need a roster spot opened up. That’s not currently the case with Wests Tigers. They hold the cards.

Funny. Galvin could become Galvanise but not for the reasons he would like!

I hear ya

I don't think hollow words from a turncoat will matter much, at this point.

I'd be announcing extensions to AD and TDS today.
True but he still has to be man enough to address them as a group IMO.

Fingers crossed we can extend TDS very soon. I want to see AD put another at least month of consistent footy together before sitting down to talk extensions as much to see how his body holds up. But the way he is going, he'll earn it.

Another background depth play for '26 onwards is Tyrone May. He is off contract this year, playing good footy in the halves for the ladder-leading Hull KR, currently coached by Willie Peters a close associate of Richo wink wink and Peters recently made these comments about Tyrone.

Willie Peters has provided further clarity on the club's halfback plans for 2026, including the position of Tyrone May.

The halfback is off-contract at the end of the season and has yet to sign a new deal, with the player holding long-standing ambitions to play with his brothers, who play in the NRL.
“Tyrone’s openly said that he wants to go back and play with his brothers, he’s said that a number of times. If he’s waiting for an opportunity to see if that opens, we obviously need to move as a club and look at opportunities that pop up as a club, because you can’t just wait, we miss the boat as well," said Peters.

Apparently he is being dropped for AD

I am a fan of dropping him but not sure about moving AD. He is pretty much one of our only centre options ATM and he needs all the game time he can get in that position. Moving him now would hinder our stocks and if we get any injuries at centre would cause further frustration to our side.

I would prefer we run with Mason at 5/8 who has shown a lot of ball playing potential. I think he is a smokey who would form a great combination with both Luai and Bula.

I think he will be named at 18th man and will make his way into the side on game day.

Wouldn’t be a bad backup and eventually number 14 when Api retired and TDS becomes our full time hooker

Could also move around with Bird for the number 16
