Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I bet he called Renno for the clip for ADs 100th.

Get him in for a season [or two] then a coaching role.

Adam Reynolds
Taylan May
Kai Pearce Paul

Goodbye Galvin.
We must acquire the necessary player(s) if we decide to let Galvin go! So, Galvin for 2nd rower, prop and centre, Galvin's manager/Galvin's new club must offer us players we are interested in.
If they cannot offer players we want, no deal!

I’d be looking to get Terrell May and Xavier Willison ASAP! 🔥 Terrell May is an 80 min front rower, with incredible workrate, great offload and skillful! That 30metre cutout try assist in Magic Rd is as good as you’ll see! The bloke should be partnering Payne Haas in the starting front row for NSW! Absolute GUN, plus dirt cheap! Willison is another that will play rep footy very soon, can play big mins and not lose impact!
🔜 🙏

Absolutely no inside information, but if I was to hazard a guess... 2 players that could be announced right away would be:

Taylan May
Tyrone May.

Solves centre, back-up 6/7 & potential #13/#14 role.

For the 3rd (if there is a 3rd) then I think Harrison Hassett could fit that backrow role.

We should extend TDS & Adam Douihei.

Then I think we need 6 - 8 signings to round out the top 30 for 2026.

I'm going with;

Taylan May (starting centre)
Tyrone May (back up half / lock)
Kai Pearce Paul (backrow)
Suli Pole (Prop depth)
Elie El Zakhem (internal, backrow depth, better than Tumeth)
Krystian Mapapalangi (internal, outside back depth, replacing Staines, Naden, Feledy)

And hopefully some room to move if any big fish becomes available that will benefit us.

Taylan & KPP will be decent contracts, but we need to focus on depth too and the other signings are good value for money type signings, hopefully.

Wouldn’t be any mid season players as they would ordinarily waive the cooling off period which is what would have delayed the announcement

So that safely rules out Taylan May

I doubt it’s DCE

Might be some depth players, don’t have my hopes up for anyone special

When we talk about all these players we have that are not worthy of top 30 contracts, have we looked around and noticed who other clubs have in their top 30 ?
99% of people posting would not have any idea who most of player 25-30 are at opposition clubs, so have nothing to compare us with.
Our problem is not roster spots 25-30, it is being 1-2 quality players short in our top 17, then lacking the required quality between roster player 18-24.
I disagree completely.
Most clubs have 25-35 players who can contribute in first grade. Maybe not well known stars but experienced pros or youngsters with high potential who can all contribute.

We don't have youngsters with potentially in our top 30, other than Galvin and Latu. We have no Bunty Afoa types who can play NSW cup and then do a job then they get called on in the NRL.

We currently have perhaps 20 players capable of contributingat first grade, that puts us well behind every other club. How many NRL clubs have top 30 players playing in the 5th division?

Successful clubs often don't have to worry about who they have in those spots as the gulf in class between their starters and their backups. We do need to focus on improving the quality of our starters first and then target better backups

Can't stand the Dogs but the current squad is a masterclass in squad building and cap management.
It's a masterclass on how the salary cap is broken. Should be a maximum limit to the amount of money that can be offered outside the cap, then choose whether you go all inn on a couple of players or spread it out.
Laundy, and his businesses need to be banned from having any involvement in any player contracts.

Richo said we will be signing three or four playes
in the next three or so weeks. (on the James Graham podcast).
Someone said we have up to 5 players that will ask for release.
(on this forum)

For those players to ask for release , does that not then mean that the
players we will sign are better than those asking for release , and
they feel that they will have limited to zero playing time?

Can you name the current roster players 26-30 at the Roosters and Rabbitohs?
They have worse depth than us in those positions, but better options than us for roster spots 18-21 and that’s a common theme across the league.
