Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yes, and no.

Look I get it. Cronk was going out of Melbourne and he tried his hand at Easts and succeeded.
DCE hasn't made up his mind yet. Why?

I think we could offer him a wider appeal post football. The networks want ex-tiger players as were a very popular team... Ofcourse I am dreaming a little and unkle nick will slip in some sort of incentive.
Your assuming he hasnt made up his mind... don't be so sure.
No way in gods earth would he come here

if we are losing tumeth and matamua also this week, we could get Chad Townsend for rest of year as a backup for latu fainu
This is a terrible take. Townsend should have retired when he left the Warriors. He was the anchor that sunk the roosters to the bottom end of the table (plus a few notable forward losses). We need to build on the loss of Galvin, not plug a hole for 18 months whilst we continue to be one of the worst 4 teams in the comp.

Your right, he won't be coming here.

That said, the way he is talking "Ive talked to the Roosters, and not committed" "I have talked to the Dolphins, and not committed"... Man the poor chick he married would have had a nervous breakdown at the proposal.
That’s why I think the Dogs aren’t out of the race despite the denial.

Uh he won a premiership after leaving the Warriors.

Reese Walsh punching on. Punishment is likely to be hit with the latest variant of a wet iceberg lettuce leaf. Yes it is a fresh one and not the one used for Ezra. Discipline is taken seriously at the Broncos.

Discipline is totally dependent on whether you have the talent to save Maguire's backside.
Punch someone in the head for social media likes, with total disregard to the damage you're doing and it's not a problem if you're a star fullback.
Like a Facebook post and you're a washed up forward and it's see ya later Marty.

Fainu showed potential in that role last year and he’s always looking busted this year. I don’t see KPP being the solution there fwiw.
From the media leaks I think KPP is highly likely though. If it is him that is earmarked it will be about bringing him on and I think a KPP/Luai and Fainu/Fainu combo would be a workable pairing. Sukkar is developing well as a backup and him/Seyfarth in reggies would be reasonable depth. Interesting to see who else is coming as we could do with another prop and an eight. There is always the opportunity to grab a couple of big fellas and transform May into a 13.

I guess is will all depend on the vision for the way we play footy - but it is looking likely that we are heading towards a mobile pack that can play an expansive game.

Well David Fifita is the most explosive and powerful edge back rower in the game IF and WHEN he is match fit and motivated.
I’ve got my doubts that Benji is the right coach to get the best out of him, but you never know, he may be able to connect with him better than others can ?
It would be a big risk to sign him, but if we had a motivated David Fifita playing for us we are a significantly better team.

He was the most explosive a few years back he hasn’t been for a while now.

You missed the bit where he went back 4 years ago cos no one wanted him....
Had a lucky year at the Cows when the rest of them fired, But ole CT7 has been dogshit for years.
You’re right I did, he transferred to the Warriors for the remainder of the season after originally signing on with the Cowboys earlier that year. Cowboys made the eight 2 times and missed the 3rd year with a 12-12 record with dogshit CT7 at the helm we could only dream of such inconsistency.

He was the most explosive a few years back he hasn’t been for a while now.
He’s now 25 and should be in the prime of his career.
He was obviously showing enough this time last season for clubs such as the Roosters and Panthers to be fighting for his signature.
Yes his form has seemingly fallen off a cliff this season, but I do recall a standout performance earlier in the season proving he still has that beast mode in him when he brings the right attitude.
It’s rumoured the Titans will contribute up to 200k to get rid of him due to his relationship with Des seemingly at the point of no return.
That would mean he can potentially be signed for 800k which is a lot of money in the salary cap and a big risk on someone who isn’t showing a high level of commitment and motivation, but even at 80-90% of his best he is exactly the type of player we are currently lacking, someone who can run the ball with speed and power on the edges and strike a bit of fear into the opposition.
In the position we are currently in, I’d be spending the 800k and taking a risk on David Fifita and I’d look at potentially signing KPP also if we can get him for 700k.
Throw in Taylan May at 400k and it would be 1.9 million spent on 3 players who all play on an edge, but if we could somehow get all 3 firing it would make us a formidable force and make life so much easier for our playmakers. It would highly likely bring the best out in Jerome Luai having dangerous, powerful ball runners as his options outside him.
