Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Well David Fifita is the most explosive and powerful edge back rower in the game IF and WHEN he is match fit and motivated.
I’ve got my doubts that Benji is the right coach to get the best out of him, but you never know, he may be able to connect with him better than others can ?
It would be a big risk to sign him, but if we had a motivated David Fifita playing for us we are a significantly better team.

He was the most explosive a few years back he hasn’t been for a while now.

You missed the bit where he went back 4 years ago cos no one wanted him....
Had a lucky year at the Cows when the rest of them fired, But ole CT7 has been dogshit for years.
You’re right I did, he transferred to the Warriors for the remainder of the season after originally signing on with the Cowboys earlier that year. Cowboys made the eight 2 times and missed the 3rd year with a 12-12 record with dogshit CT7 at the helm we could only dream of such inconsistency.

He was the most explosive a few years back he hasn’t been for a while now.
He’s now 25 and should be in the prime of his career.
He was obviously showing enough this time last season for clubs such as the Roosters and Panthers to be fighting for his signature.
Yes his form has seemingly fallen off a cliff this season, but I do recall a standout performance earlier in the season proving he still has that beast mode in him when he brings the right attitude.
It’s rumoured the Titans will contribute up to 200k to get rid of him due to his relationship with Des seemingly at the point of no return.
That would mean he can potentially be signed for 800k which is a lot of money in the salary cap and a big risk on someone who isn’t showing a high level of commitment and motivation, but even at 80-90% of his best he is exactly the type of player we are currently lacking, someone who can run the ball with speed and power on the edges and strike a bit of fear into the opposition.
In the position we are currently in, I’d be spending the 800k and taking a risk on David Fifita and I’d look at potentially signing KPP also if we can get him for 700k.
Throw in Taylan May at 400k and it would be 1.9 million spent on 3 players who all play on an edge, but if we could somehow get all 3 firing it would make us a formidable force and make life so much easier for our playmakers. It would highly likely bring the best out in Jerome Luai having dangerous, powerful ball runners as his options outside him.

It's guaranteed that Ready wouldn't have a clue what's happening at WT. Perhaps only what an agent says.... And of course Api's agent wants to know what the plans for him are. But at his age there's zero chance he gets a 3 year deal. A 2 year deal on less money with the agreement that he transitions towards a bench role as Talyn progresses
Why can't he be the 14. Silva starts and plays as long as he can. Api covers hooker half and lock if needed.

This is a terrible take. Townsend should have retired when he left the Warriors. He was the anchor that sunk the roosters to the bottom end of the table (plus a few notable forward losses). We need to build on the loss of Galvin, not plug a hole for 18 months whilst we continue to be one of the worst 4 teams in the comp.
you are right lets roll the dice with hamstring boy Latu and see how far we get

I think as fans and members we should all now get behind Benji and the club to go forwarw now without the Galvin And moses crap/as fans get a good bunch of great young men and see where we can go .Go WestsTigers
Agree 100%. BUT Just a little part of me believes if we dont finish near the top 8, i cant see the future of BULA being that simple.

Why would we get Chad Townsend?
He wouldn't be my first call, nor second or third.

If Galvin walked today, it's good to have a half that can take up the duties if Luai or Fainu get injured. With James Maloney saying he learned Nothing from Flanno, you expect Townsend hasn't learned anything, but as a nr3 half he would not be a bad option for a 1 year contract.

We shouldn't sign depth on big money which has always been a huge problem here. But you often need a replacement halfback who can manage the team. As long as he is happy playing reserve grade on a low contract that would be it. (which likely wouldn't happen anyway. Better money in Superleague.).

Theyre all talented hey
Shame about the #9 though

He'd be an established star currently
I have no doubt
I think Manase will be out at the beginning of 2027 with parole. He'll only be 28.

It would not surprise me at all to see him start to be mentioned on the lips of a few NRL clubs heading towards the 2028 season, he'll only be 28/29 odd...

Yes, well-raised.

Weve dropped the off-field ball this season.

Benefits to members has pretty much collapsed except if you want you want to be marketed at.

Admin appear to be distracted by something.

Membership and maintaining the following obviously isnt high on the list of priorities.

Which sadly reinforces the idea that we have a club set up for officeholders and high status employees.

Im not going on a nasty anti Richo etc rant, just putting it out there.

Where have i seen that before?

Keep these "forum of origin" posts coming @Vicious.
You've gotta love Richo but as others have alluded, despite him making out that there have been more difficult assignments in the past, I think he has underestimated the difficulty of this one.

I wish him luck and hope it doesn't kill him, he's not a fit and healthy young man and I don't for one minute underestimate the toll this could be having on his health.
