Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think Manase will be out at the beginning of 2027 with parole. He'll only be 28.

It would not surprise me at all to see him start to be mentioned on the lips of a few NRL clubs heading towards the 2028 season, he'll only be 28/29 odd...
Does he immediately get accepted back by the NRL though given he was convicted but served the time?

There should be a pathway through this negotiation for both parties to be happy.

Api is, inevitably, going to start handing over minutes and Tallyn, who's not ready yet, should be starting to receive more minutes.

There is a world where the timing is right.

Api extends for 1 year in 27, to play 50/50 role.
Tallyn to take over starting during late 26/early 27.
Haywood to understudy Tallyn from 28.

In 2028, Tallyn will be 23 with, if he stays the course, an inside running on the starting hooking role at his junior club and the club he loves. He will also have another 2 years under one of the best hookers of the NRL era and will have the hooking role support of another quality up and comer in Haywood.

However, all the messaging out of the Tigers seems to point, already - for some reason, to TDS walking away. I can't for the life of me understand why.
If TDS walks it will be for the same roll he is playing with us , second fiddle to a more experienced hooker, and if that is the case clearly he and his bum chum LG are filthy with the club for some reason. Think about it TDS second fiddle to Api ,not bad, and LG play along side a 4 time premiership winner ,no bad. both should have milked the experience nowing full well they are the future of the club with a big pay packets. And they could still hit the showers together. 😉

Just how friendly. 🤣
We were two ships passing in the night.

A happy discussion, lots of jokes. Alas she is better looking as a female than i am as a bloke. Oh well.

But I do know an indigenous lady who got pisssed with the league circus in a country town and got an embarassed Cliffy Lyons to autograph one of her cheeks.

Hes a good sport and in all of the circumstances, i heard he was high brow and very professional and modest in his assignment.

I can't see them punting Walker and going with DCE/Galvin.

Ofcourse DCE upgrades their entire team. That said if they loose out on DCE, they are going to target Galvin heavily as a consolidation prize. Heck Gavlin -> Walker works for me.
they go walker and galvin
punt sandon smith
dce to dolphins

I don't see what others see woth tds. He often makes the wrong play from dummy half, he has poor first contact in defence. Those saying he should start with api off the bench are mad imo. He is a poor defender very rarely wins the ruck. Api at least controls our line speed yeah he misses a few but we need his leadership as often as possible.

Tds could be a gun but I honestly think he needs a year or two to properly learn his trade build some size. The young fellas are way to impatient galvin included.

Harry Grant is the model and the club definately shouldn't be held accountable to youngens that still need to prove themselves
Tallyn only turned 20 last month and is contracted through next year, so he will still be some 6 months younger come round 1 of 2027 than Grant was on his debut at WT. Yes, a full 2026 season on top of another 14 matches to come this year of further development.

Api has the same contract duration and is on the decline, which for the vast majority of players begins to accelerate rapidly at his age. He will be 34 years and 4 months old come kick-off in 2027.

Extending Koroisau is the greater risk for mine, particularly so if he wants more than another year, and Haywood, like many so called gun juniors before him, may never even play NRL, let alone have a career.
