Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If Adam Reynolds comes here, it won't be as a backup....

I'm a fan of Latu but he's not even 20, a year of reserve grade just getting through 80 minutes every week would do him wonder.

No doubt he would still play first grade throughout the year anyway

Would be great business from the club
Adam Reynolds is not getting through a full year of first grade these days. If he came here, Latu would be needed for at least 1/3 of the season.

Katoa is the player that everyone should be pursuing and talking about if they want to be serious about sustained success
The Galvin obsession is now becoming weird.
Katoa really is that good. In a hypothetical situation where both Moses and Cleary were injured, I would pick him at 7 for NSW. His ceiling is enormous. I think he is as good as Cleary.

There’s a reason why when they interviewed over 50 player managers recently Katoa polled 3rd (7.7%) on being the first 2 million dollar player behind Cleary (46.2%) and Haas (15.4%). He has real class about him and a very good kick from memory. Only 21 as well.

In comparison 50% of agents think Galvin is worth less than 750k.

Latu - Hasn't strung 1/3 of a season together in a few years... My hope is dwindling for him.

LOVE watching him play, All the talk on Galvin, Taulagi (even Strange) last couple years leaves me shaking my head... This kid is about the same age, and Up there dragging a team of also rans around with decent results - I can't wait to see him in an elite team.

He's the kid I can see the Roosters going hard for - he's the only one worth the big bucks atm.

Think they're throwing darts again.

Renno + Richo connection.
Renno speaking openly, probably using us as a tool to get himself a better deal.

Jonah Glover?
Has looked alright in NSW cup but isn't as good as Galvin nor Latu.
Probably a good back up player to have in cup, when needed.

I am staunchly sticking by Krystian is worth developing, halves back up as well as a centre/wing option. Bit Averillo like... as well as Tyrone May as a bit of a leader for the cup team, playing 6, 7, 13... wherever needed, probably even give him the captaincy.

Remember when Sheens was coach and he said the best junior spine in the comp was in the club? Can only assume it was 9. TDS, 7. Conti, 6. Galvin, 1. Large. All gone or on their way out. Problems with most of their parents from what I hear. A disappointing result nonetheless. 🤷‍♂️
This is absolute wishful thinking from Sheens and a reason why we have had a tough trot the last few years.
He was head of our pathways it’s his job to develop the system not the player. We need to build a club that can provide 4 TDS’s or equivalent so that we are not so heavily dependant on 1 player. I’m over hearing about our elite cubs programe it’s too narrow a view in my opinion. We need to be propping up our junior comps so that it rivals Penrith as the most competitive in the state. Focus on the roots first.

Penrith system is crazy...

Katoa [Dolphins] , Iongi [Parra] & Riley Smith [Parra] are all Penirth products. There's a fair few good eggs scattered around the NRL that come from that system & that's without mentioning the more well known players like Luai & Critta.

Youre not even touching the sides Sir.

I live out here and you can barely make it to the corner store without tripping over a future international.

Theyve got a lot of spys as well. All the schools and all that.

Huge and successful effort.

Ivan cleary. Id love to see him back at the Tigers. Righting the wrongs, saving himself from the bowels of hell for his living sin of abandoning us.

Special ops, if Ivan is catholic, distract Father and sneak richo in the confessional box. 3 Hail Marys snd 3 seasons with us.

Latu would swallow it, he’s a very humble & respectful young man. It’s whether his manager agrees to it. I can’t see why he wouldn’t if it’s for one year and would be another mentor with Luai.
Has anyone thought Reynolds might be being looked at to help Luai with his halves play but also to take pressure off him. Obviously I’d expect Luai to go back to 6 but he came to our club to be the main organiser. Hopefully Luai is alright about it too.

He is good but he is only doing what Thurston, Johns, cronk did in their day. Play direct with the ball in two hands and temper your speed. The fact he is so young and doing it is the suprise. He needs to work on his foot speed. When he runs he picks the right moment but just can't accelerate through the gap

Yeah and fair enough. My gripe is with Sheens coming back and popping his head around our juniors for a few years and locking in who he claimed to be the most talented set of juniors since 05.
Job done. Piss off, it’s a much deeper job then just nominating whose going to be playing first grade in a few years time.
Watch the Bloke in the Bar Lachlan Galvin interview. He could not believe his luck that Sheens signed up those boys to top 30 contracts, despite possibly wanting to explore options the offer was simply too good to refuse.
