Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think Tucker should get one of his staff to drive him to the game up yonder because hell still be suffering from the hangover caused by Lauries "team of the great unwashed and unwanted".

The worst nsw side in living memory are going to destroy Queensland and everything the feral scum sucking bogans stand for.

It wouldnt surprise me if Bratfink is a closet queenslander. Finds a birth certficate -born in Yorkeys Knob Base Hospital.
This is a great NSW side with heaps of points in it. Who are you trying to fool? Lol

the Taylan May stuff is interesting . Whilst I agree we should snap him up if he’s asking for minimum wage / average wage . I’m completely against giving a guy who’s only reason for not getting convicted for bashing his wife is she didn’t turn up to give evidence , and had to be convinced to go into rehabilitation as well as a psych ward , and he wants his value from 2023 .
That’s got to be the riskiest contract ever . And I don’t think we are that desperate . A 1 and a half year deal on a low value contract has to be the only thing we offer .
It would simply be took risky to offer anything above 250k .

That’s disappointing to hear but no surprise. Richo has been banging on about finances since he started. The 165K transfer fee probably pays a few bills.
A hallmark of Ciraldos coaching was his extreme fitness regime. And of course, the Panthers had some remarkable game conditioning and recovery people. I think it was gf 2, a huge chunk of their side were injured.

Latu and Skelton are enormous assetts if we can keep them fit, strong and working in combinations.

Ive got this fear they will get injured again way too early to make an impact. For me, its kind of nail biting.

Maybe im over-reading it, typical wt fan problem. Theres no peace!!!

My argument is that he stood to benefit and indeed he did so.
If that's the argument you are indeed correct.

But you mentioned Galvin's claims not being too serious. I'm starting to suspect they're not about any social media posts from colleagues.... I think its a fair chance Galvin's camp are describing disciplinary measures from coaches at the club, that are watched by other first graders, similar to what is described in the guardian article I posted. Galvin was made to vomit from disciplinary measures once if I recall. Those kinds of things are easy to frivolously object to by an Agent like Moses, and easily upheld in the court of Rugby League public opinion.

Next we'll have Benji's body language in front of Bula up for dispute.

Thanks.

As you guessed, I found the points raised quite engaging and thought provoking.

The alleged wrestling punishment dished out by the dogs seemed quite cruel and unusual punishment.

At school, wed have to do a few laps of the oval. We had the group punishment if someone cheated. That kind of stopped cheating. Wed all swear at the cheat and threaten them, but wed never follow through. Back in the day, you did what the teachers/coaches ordered. Defiance was unthinkable. Taking notes, youd never even dream of it. The shame of it....

We should have signed Hassett when we had the chance. So many on the forum didn't want him because they thought he was 'undersized'. He's always been a talent and as I said almost a year ago, he's essentially the same size as Liam Martin. Unfortunately we're stuck with Seyfarth as a starting second rower.

Unfortunately it might be too late, as it looks like he might become a regular in the Penrith squad. Hassett, KPP, Taylan May and Tyrone would be 4 ideal signings which would address our weaknesses in the starting side, bench and depth.

We really need to stop judging players on their appearance and actually look at their performances and what skills/attributes they offer to the starting side. Hope we can somehow jag him still with KPP (Samuela, KPP and Hassett would be great), but if not it's onto the next.

I got to say, Des Haslier is damn smart.

Looking at the origin team list, I became bemused at the Titans getting 3 players in the side. Sure Tino probably gets a mention, then I realised what Des was doing.

Des knows he doesn't have the halfves or backs to drive the team forward so he builds his forward pack.

Meaning next year when he gets the halfback he wants (or at least a consoldiation prize) he will have the forward pack to have them do something. Contrast that with the tigers, 3 spoons and never once did we frontload or use the time wisely.

If the salary cap was functioning properly, then a much heralded young half would be moving from the top team under cap pressure after only being offered $750K to the wooden spooners with cap space and a need for a key signature for a $1.2M offer…..not the other way around.
That literally happened last year.

There in all sorts I’d rather be in our position then there’s

Saving Salary on Papalii (Listed as May and Hunt took Stefanos money), Bud, Klemmer, Bateman, Miller - Now Galvin (I think that's all)
Who's getting it?

And When?
Apparently we already have. Hunt was one of the replacement signings….Six months before we released Klemmer

Taylan May isn't a first grader. He hasn't played 50 games and he hasn't been able to contribute to a full campaign of first grade football because he's got himself arrested at least once every year since 2021. We are already fully stocked on yesterdaysfuture former Penrith outside backs. People here talking as if he'll just slot in and ice games for us home and away. Not a chance. There is nothing he's going to add that to any supposed finals push that will outclass Staines or Naden.

We need experience and consistency. Less mistakes, not raw talent. Valentine Holmes would have been a perfect addition to our side. I hope we eventually get something like that soon. Like a 29 year old Josh Morris type player.

I like that nothing is leaking from our club and Richo isn't rushing into blowing the war chest, as is our usual tradition.
He would instantly be the best centre at the club, and that's even considering he's not match fit.
You severely underestimate how shit our back stocks are

People talking like replacing Doueihi is a major need, but the same people say Latu is a risk with his hamstrings.

Yet nobody says anything about Skelton & his injury history, and possibly needing a winger over a centre...
I've seen a few mentions of Skelton's injury history. Obviously I know he's had a couple hamstring issues this year. Has he had persistent problems previously?

I don’t think he does. May is the kind of dude who could jump a fence mid game and be laying into someone in the third row, given the mental state he’s shown since all this happened. He needs to sort his head out. And from a playing perspective, he needs an off season. For anyone thinking he’d come back and immediately go into beast mode…At our club no less, would be in for a serious reality check.
