Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Absolutely, he's a low cost recruit who could end up being a top level player.

I've always been a massive fan of Hassett. He has the potential of being Liam Martin 2.0, even has the same body and play style. Played NSW u19s and just needs a chance in first grade.

Hassett, Taylan May, Tyrone May and a top level lock would really elevate this squad.
I would try Adam Doueihi at lock if we get taylan. Got skills and his big enough also. Also leaves a goal kicker in the team.

Yeah, something to think about.

But I’m not there with his d and injuries worries.

Taylan would be an extraordinary signing.
I wouldn’t have agreed prior to this season but his contact in D has improved remarkably. Whether he has the motor to play long minutes in the middle is unknown but I think he would be an effective link man. While not being overly quick he doesn’t seem to get pushed back in defence as well.

Heath Mason might make Bud expendable …. They still need another half though I think ….so they need to replace Bud and pay incentive money to another club for him that totals around the same money they are paying Bud now .,

This is why I tried to fob you off initially …my experience generally is that people ask for references and then dismiss it when you give them one …

Have you provided any sources yourself as yet to support your argument of lesser amounts ?

To be fair …because there is no transparency with player salaries , none of us know for sure and each side can produce figures that support their side given the sheer amount of media content … the only alternative is for everyone to not discuss the issue to begin with…but because of the importance of the salary cap, thats probably not happening
The purpose of providing a reference is legitimise an argument.

If that reference is poor, as ZT is through easily proven inaccuracies all over their website regularly, then, generally, the original argument isn't strong.

That's all. Don't overthink it.

manly fans are still spewing that they lost the fainus , why does everyone in this forum write them off . they are generational talents and i never say that about kids give latu time . there’s a reason they lost latu , metcalf , weekes , it’s bad recruitment from them not from us. they knew what they had just didn’t have the cap space to get all 3 .
I’ve nothing against Latu - can anyone claim we’ve got value for money out of him? I also consider he was out injured when we bought him - he’s played a handful of games in the last 3 years.

Sam has been quiet this year but had a good first year - hopefully he bounces back and the other bloke gets on the park for more than 20 minutes off the bench at some point before he’s up for renewal - so he can be judged fairly and on more than snippets from a game or 2 every other month.

What money is hw on? People keep saying he is on 500k a year when he is on half that

Jazz Tevaga is off contract end of 2025, would be an amazing pickup
Surely they have an option on him - weird move to make just for one year….

There’s a few of those 13/utilities getting around that would do
A job for us - probably cost us a hooker though… Walker has been the best of them for Parra - he’s got them on the up.

Him being shopped 2 years into a 4 year contract and replaced by Brooks not ‘receipts’ enough for you 😂😂😂
Ah, so you made it up.

Checks out.

**edit - either I'm dreaming or you originally used the word 'desperate' as below. Going back, it now reads 'happy to see the back of'. That certainly softens my approach to below.

You said they were 'desperate'. Granting a release to benefit from some cap relief is not the same thing as being desperate to get rid of a player.

If your entire argument for them being desperate to get rid of Latu was that they released him early, does that also hold for any club that agrees to release players early, ever?

Or do you have some ACTUAL evidence? You know, a quote, some intel, heck, even an article where the desperation to offload Latu's contract is mentioned...

Happy to be wrong.

Also happy to wait.
