Congrats to the NRL standard players who carried the passengers yesterday.
At what point does the team give up on a backrower who consistently makes no yardage. averages 2 post contact metres per run and misses 6 tackles at an efficiency of 82%?
It must be heartbreaking for someone like May to have to carry the burden of the extra work he has to do.
If we had KPP yesterday we win easy, you just can't carry the deadwood we have.

Bit harsh calling them deadwood. Having said that no argument we need at least 3 upgrades to improve results. If we can retain the existing players we want keep as well we'll finally have some reasonable depth.
 
We also have the most overrated by our own fans, fullback in the game.
Looking at it with an unbiased eye Bula is in the bottom three fullbacks in the NRL.
He still lacks involvement, he was invisible in the first half.
He also lacks basic football instinct of when to get involved and how to create space and opportunities when he does. He constantly crowds his outside men.
He is a naturally gifted player with no idea at all how to make those gifts valuable to his team because his football I.Q. is so low.
Poor Jarome was left to do all the creating yesterday and he nearly pulled it off. Hats off to him.
Final point, we are now 0-6 when Seyfarth and Sukkar are in the 17, if we pick them together again next game we will be 0-7. You just can't carry 2 forwards who offer nothing on both sides of the ball.

There is no doubt our attack flows much better when Latu plays like he did last night as a 13.
Why are we not able to get Jack Bird or perhaps Adam Doueihi playing that same style tp allow Latu to shift wider and play as a 6 ?
I’ve seen highlights of Charlie Murray also playing that similar role for Brisbane East’s in the Q-Cup, surely we can get someone other than Latu playing that same role ?

I’ve acknowledged Bula’s improvement this season, but with the points you have raised, plus the fact he has no kicking game whatsoever, I’m still not seeing the 900k of value which is what his contract with us will soon be worth.
I thought Jerome was very good for us last night, except some of his 5th tackle options are very poor, we need Latu or someone else to take the burden off him on our 5th tackle decision making and we would be a much better team for it.

They definitely need another new 3 NRL ready players join the team for next season if they are looking for a further leap forward…the squad is still not good enough

Agree, but it's not far.

There's only probably a decent centre to replace Doueihi and a couple of NRL-standard middles left to be able to jump into that next tier in my opinion. We will also have Seyfarth back in the middle with KPP arriving next season.

And a couple from; Corey Jensen, Viliame Fifita, Jordan McLean, Davvy Moale, Mark Nicolls or Josh Papali'i. All of whom are off contract for next year is my understanding. 1 and 1+1 year deals is my thinking.

agree , this squad is so close . people forget we used to have to watch hastings and wakeham every week 🤦‍♂️ we’ve come a long way .

And we were winning 4 games a season in those days … one of the worst teams in 20 years …

I think we are saying the same things … KPP + a Center , plus a 13 plus a benchie probably sees it out

This is just the issue across the park isn't it? We have very very very few line breaking threats. 99% of teams make their breaks through the edges with CTWs/2RFs, but Sukkar, Seyfarth, Doueihi and even S.Fainu don't offer us anything out there.

Toa, Latu, Bula and Mason are probably the only ones there possible of making an LB in the whole side.

Good point, we are frequently just taking a one out hit up on our 4th tackle when we are in our attacking zone.
Surely something better can be planned,,even if it’s one of our edge back rowers cutting back in at speed of our fullback or 5/8 trying to take on some tired defenders in the middle.
