Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Omg what is it with people thinking Doueihi could play lock ? If you honestly think that you are really not a tigers fan and want to see the team improve and play finals football.
He is not a lock please stop the stupidity!!
I can’t think of any position that suits him anymore?
Maybe he can be Perth Bears flagship signing, I can think of quite a few others we could send over with him.
I believe Royce Hunt has some connection with WA, but it would be nice if we could offload him for 2026 and not have to wait until 2027.

IMO our prop rotation is developing very nicely.
Terryl May, Pole, Sione Fainu, Taateo and Hunt. All have impact. And some younger hopefuls.
2nd rowers---Sam Fainu, KPP, Seyfarth, Twal, Charlie Murray. Another quality 2RF would be good.
Lock----Tyrone sounds a good prospect. Bird and Twal stopgap? A genuine lock needed.
You Forgot Sukkar under the second rowers A great prospect

I think people who are having a sook because , people are debating the best way to utilise AD, because he’s you know , 190cm plus and built like a brick shithouse , and is a good bloke , those people need to STFU and get over yourself .
No one is saying as of Mid June 2025 AD profiles as a lock forward in the nrl . What they’re saying is , if he’s not a centre then there’s really on 2 positions for him , lock or edge forward .
The debate is not even about AD as a wests tigers player . It’s about AD as a footballer , because contrary to what some of the absolute toxic fans out there who think all football players are video game characters , some of us actually care about these guys who wear our jersey. For me ESPECIALLY the ones who bleed black gold and white .
For me if AD wants to and can increase his desire for dirty work , as well as work on his carry into and through contact Zac there’s absolutely no reason with his body shape that he couldn’t make a good fist of it . Not in nrl though . Not yet at least.

We need another genuine first grade prop, second rower and lock. Prop and second row are the priority.

These are as much guys that can come off the bench or challenge for spots.

Backs are set.

So we need a couple of outside backs probably May plus 2 others win 1 spot left vacant, we need 2-3 middles depending on where you play Twal. We could also make Latu a lock coming on after 20 minutes and sign another half especially if Reynolds signs.

Personally I'd keep Staines and Douehi (or replace with Mpapalangi) as backline dept with May and keep Kit as one of the depth props and sign a lock or a half depending on what the plan is with Latu.

IF he was prepared to give a positional switch to lock or edge back row a go, I would hope we offer him initially a small one year contract to see how he goes, but in all honesty I don’t think AD will be too keen for a move to the forwards or a pay cut.
I doubt any NRL club gives him a contract for the value he’s looking for, but he could get that as a 5/8 in the UK Super League.

This post speaks to me. I feel the same about AD and a number of our players. I honestly want them to succeed AND our team to succeed.
AD has been loyal, and has tried his heart out for us. I would love to seem him continue to grow as a player and earn a spot

Like I said … it’s for him this conversation is being had as much as anything . Surely his inner circle are having the same discussions .
It to be fair if Jackson Hastings won man of steel , AD definitely could . I guess that’s the thing . Stay here and work your way back into the nrl Lin another position , or go across the world and play your preferred position , albeit in an inferior league on a lower salary .

I thought Kit was still under contract for 2026 ?
I very much doubt Staines or Doueihi will be interested in re-signing if they know they are not in our plans to start when we are full strength.
Mapapalangi would appear to offer versatility and good depth cover for a bottom end top 30 contract.
Taateo would have to come under consideration for a bottom end top 30 contract and I think Rahme might be considered also.
I could be wrong, but I think we would be looking at selling off Sullivan’s 500k contract if Souths or another club are willing to pay at least 250k towards it.

Yep me too mate ! It’s one of the reasons I always backed brooksy . The guy grew up a tigers supporter ! He wasn’t just some mercenary here for the coin . At least at the beginning . Maybe toward the end he was .
Like Heath Mason , even TDS. These kids openly love the tigers and want to play for us . Same with the Fainus and Lualili’s. I want these types to succeed . Even Benji as coach . There’s a certain kind of thing when it’s “one of us” getting it done . There’s a romance to it. And as such you want these guys to do well in life because they did wear the jersey and play for this club you love.
When they’re a mercenary and a shit , like Galvin , Moses , woods , teddy , Aloiai, Matterson … you sports hate these guys . You don’t really wish them the worst . You definitely don’t wish them the best though …
Anyways to AD if your reading this , you’re cooked as an nrl centre bro. It’s brutal ! I know! It must suck to read. But you can still make nrl in the forwards. You just need to learn to love the tough stuff .

Think he will find it tough to hold down centre for us next season, pace off the mark just not sharp enough.

What's ridiculous?

Xerri was able to do it after a 5 year lay off, and guess what? He played NRL in round 1.

Taylan played NRL 12 months ago, it's not going to take him that long to get up to speed.

Not everyone sits at home eating donuts when they're not playing.
Exactly , on here you read that he has been out for 3 years and even on the podcasts they said 2.5 years but he played in the 24 world club challenge against Bevan French and his trouble started late April last year .. he is still fit ias a fiddle and it will not take him long at all to hit his straps

We have Bud till end of 2027..Perth Bears need a halfback!.

How many years of an apprenticeship did the likes of Harry Grant, Jonah Pezet (still doing) & Jack Howarth do? Seems young players are happy to do their time at a club such as the Storm but not us or is it just agents holding us to ransom!

What about the Raiders with their plethora of hookers led by Starling & Pattie all happy to extend!

Personally I think it's a bit of media beat-up. Tipping both will extend.
I couldn't agree more my only concerns is these new teams. I think they will target players like TDS and other upcomers and offer money we just can't be paying. I'm interested from other members how they rate Tallyn realistically. I like what I've seen from his limited minutes don't see to much lower grades so I can't really comment. What I do know is api has been probably tigers best ever signing or up with them and has made a massive difference to our club, would live to keep him around but some might think do a Ricky with fogarty and give him one final pay day. My favourite WT player. Every club needs one..

I think we’d be crazy to not reach out to Manu … Seems May has pitched out to him a fair few times lol

At 28 he’d still have a lot of good football left in him

Anyways, it’s nice to dream
He's like a prom date you spend most of the year hoping she comes with you on the night and it ends up you don't even get a dance. Would be good but she belongs to Ken. (Roosters)
