Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Eastwood has 220 games FG experience, brings a good culture and personally I think he is a player that could really do with escaping Des.

I would think he would be in the prop rotation at this stage of his career or you get him fit (Des wants big) and have him as bench backrow.

Again though he has the advantage of being a good defender and brigning culture and expeirence and 350k even if its that is fairly cheap

Don't know why there is so much negativity around Eastwood's potential signing. Yes he is 30 and probably not the best option going around, but he is solid, a competitor, defensively sound and from winning cultures previously. If his wage is subsidised, why not take him for a couple of years.

Well said. We still lack size and experience, he brings both and might allow ET to play wider and help sure up our edge defense.

Eastwood would be a reasonable pick up. Offers experience and can be a solid player, he wouldn't be on big big $ so worth a punt on his experience alone. We have some young talented forwards and a group of experienced international forwards to guide them would be great for there development.

Our kiwi quota in the pack would be through the roof.

Buzz is saying Eastwood is done

Tom Sangster said the same in the Supercoach countdown show on Thursday . I ignored it because Sanga is hardly the source of transfer info …

I read somewhere else ( can't find it now ) that the Bulldogs would be paying 100k of his 450k contract .

Posted this a week ago that Dogs offered to pay 100k but didn't think we would bite. Same source that gave me the mail before it became known that Woods was done at the Dogs. If it's 350k you can't really complain he is solid but form has slipped this year and he is 31 next year.
Our NZ contingent is growing rapidly.

Ahhh I knew I saw it somewhere.
Well done .
with all the kiwis ( and token Pom , McQueen ) we'll have a full squad at origin time next year .

I don't like the idea of Eastwood but what do I know…MIght be used in the same fashion as Chris Heighington has at the Sharks over the last few years.

Depending what happens with Dugan….
Stays with the dragons? We get Milne ?
Sharks sign him ? Maybe we should ask about Valentine Holms

On the proviso never to kick the ball again.

Should have a penalty clause in his contract if he kicks in a game.

Not a bad signing if true. Will compliment the likes of packer amd mautalino and add some size to our pack until the young guys kick on.
He has some good enthusiasm and you can't say he doesn't give it his all when he is on the field.

Eastwood is defo the worst hes ever looked.
If we get him fit, he'll be a decent signing.

Sharks have got Holmes locked up tight, he won't be leaving them anytime soon.

Since we've apparently become the destination for former/current bulldogs.. Who'll we take from them next 😂
