Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The coach is the last piece of the puzzle in my opinion. We have sacked so many coaches and kept playing with mediocre sides expecting better results.

The coach needs the players first and foremost. Any team in the top 4 aren't trotting out sides like we've had in the past.

Our recruitment has been pretty good and Benji will either have them winning or he'll be replaced. At least we will have a team capable of winning games off the bat instead of having to wait 3 years for the new coach to rebuild the squad which is going to be infinitely harder with a 19 team competition.
I think this next game with our best forward pack on paper selected all season is going to tell us just where the pack is at and how many we need to upgrade.

Balmain Boy at it again. You got NFI son! Stop stealing our oxygen. If you watched the game the edge forwards held them self well against Penrith the first half. You’re talking about a 4 time NRL grand final team who could not bust our line for 30min. Had Latu not shot out, no way they would have scored. I would have been embarrassed if I was a Penrith player and could not get through a rookie 21 year old edge forward for that long.

But since you hate Sukkar, Twal and Doueihi, it’s quite obvious where your minds at. BUT like the coward you are, you will never run it Str8.

Please change your name to keyboard warrior!
Losers like you are a big part of the problem at this club. A culture where losing is acceptable and underperforming is not only tolerated by celebrated.

Do you work for HBG by any chance?

I would be targeting Pezet and Jett Cleary.
We need a halfback.
Luai to lock perhaps to help look after Latus body

Sign the talent then figure out who goes where. The cream will rise to the top and the rest will still get offers
If we do sign a halfback Latu goes to lock not Luai

I’d go for Pezet or Savala, both have big boots

Today from Jarome Luai: "I'm staying, don't worry - for life. I think when things get hard, people are sort of expecting you to change and I'm not that type of guy. I'm here for the long run and I'm here to change this club around."

Anyone who paid any attention to what this guy's character is knew he wasn't leaving.
I think we're all so used to weak gutted dogs like Brooks , Galvin and Moses that we don't think men of grit and integrity exist anymore.

So you agree he shouldn't play first grade for another 2 years and is a wasted spot in the top 30. Good.
No.

Was that what I said?

Try ACTUALLY reading. I said that he is best to, if we want him in the middle longer term, spend a couple of years playing Cup to perfect it. He is not also in the Top 17 in my opinion. You do realise that a decent chunk of your Top 30 play reserves most weeks, right?

Such a sloppy, lazy retort 🤣

I also disputed like 5 or 6 of your comments in my previous post, no follow up on that?
That effort for Lindsay Smith's try last week was pitiful.
Yeh, cool. Any contributing factors? Latu shooting up and breaking formation? No?

Ok, sweet. So you half-ass analysis to suit your narrative too. Cool.

Seriously 😂

BREAKING: Jerome Luai had given his strongest indication yet that he is going to see out the full length of his contract at the Wests Tigers. Full story @9NewsSyd

that’s Danny Wielder so god knows what he’s talking abt
His manager probably just got the quotes back from all the other clubs and doesn’t wanna give up half a mil a year.

You're a great poster BB, genuinely.

But sometimes your comic relief posts are just exceptional value. Thank you.

Geez if you're correct Parra are on a build along Canterbury lines while we just lag along behind. Parra will be top 8 bound next year while we look for our spot in the bottom 4. We should be in the race for this type of player and pay overs for the right player if we have to. People on here like to have a shot at HBG for all our woes but recruitment is purely down to WT staff.
The lack of funding that HBG provides the club makes us a much less attray option than most clubs.
Going to a club run on a shoestring bare minimum budget or a cashed up club investing in it's people. It's why we lose out so often to other clubs.
We are seen as the poorest club in the comp, which we are. HBG need to double or triple their financial contributions or sell the club to someone who will actually invest in the club.

Yeah, nah, but an actual halfback would be nice.
Not one who thinks he is, or wants to be, but someone who has only ever and will only ever play halfback.

Ok over to you Benji, Shannon & Richo ...

Parramatta have distanced themselves from luring Queensland State of Origin backrower Beau Fermor from the Titans.

Fermor’s future on the Gold Coast has been the subject of uncertainty in recent weeks with the 26-year-old believed to be frustrated at the club’s lack of on-field excellence.

There have been suggestions across the game that Fermor had requested a release from the final year of his Titans deal, or had at least asked for permission to talk with rival clubs before November 1, however Gold Coast management have denied that is the case to this masthead.

If he frustrated with their lack of excellence then we have no chance ..

Who has become available that will make sure our forwards don’t get bullied ?
Trey Mooney is a good young player and he’s probably as good as we might be able to get, but he’s is yet to show he’s an NRL forward leader.
The others such as Beau Fermor is an edge back rowers, but I reckon Richo and Benji are of the same opinion as you and are satisfied with Samuela and KPP.
As I’ve agreed they are both.goid players, but neither have the explosive speed that every other club has with at least one of their edge back rowers. My solution is to give Ssmuela and KPP every opportunity to make the edge back row positions their own, but bring in a versatile, faster, more explosive edge back row option as our 15 and to keep the pressure on them to perform. Someone like Fermor is not coming here to be a number 15, however players such as Simi Sasagi might providing they do get a starting spot if their form demands it.

The discussions were around better forwards ,,.not a high bar for us…

It’s now been 72 hrs and an option has become available

Do you think others will not become available in the next 8 months before Round 1 next season ?

It's really weird to me. We signed Luai, May (prop), Skelton, Turuva and May (centre) plus a bunch of others.

Next year we have signed KPP and have spots open with cash to spend and we are supposedly 2-3 steps behind?

We are about 3 players off a total roster overhaul. Go back and look at our team list in 2024 and compare to now. It's a big change.

Not sure what more you expect.
It's not just about a total overhaul, it should be about have we improved over the years .... we are still in the running for the wonderful spoon again so going by the players above you have listed we are still going backwards or maybe its the players we are bringing in that are really not up to scratch ??
