Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

with roosters beating bulldogs we now need:

Round 24
Broncos over dolphins
Tigers over manly

Round 25
Tigers over cowboys
Eels over roosters
Many over dolphins

Round 26
Tigers over raiders
Storm over roosters

Round 27

Wahs over manly
Rabbits over roosters
Tigers over titans
Raiders over dolphins

And with this we make the 8, very very slim chance but there’s still a chance
Thanks for posting.

Lots of tigers over there…

.
With Charlie Staines released, and Bird and Murray supposedly being shopped, maybe Richo and Benji have their sights on an NRL proven middle in the $500K- $650K range. Similar price to KPP. Would fill an obvious void and provide better balance to the roster.

Murray is not being shopped ,..this is a myth started by some Pommy site ..

How come people read the first story and ignore the second about him staying ? Wishful thinking maybe ..

Bird being shopped smells a bit too

Yep on your own, we have made some real average signings lately! Was hoping for better.
Why do u think the rooters let Roberts go, cause he had a top 30 next season and he wasn’t good enough to fill it.
Roberts is developing nicely, my compadre who works in the rorters hierarchy was angry as a rattlesnake on a hot skillet they cut him loose.
Chrichton 2.0.
Lets see. Both he and Mav are from winning systems so maybe some of that culture finds its way across as a definite bonus.

It's rugby league mad science but could Skelton make a 2RF he's big enough and when he comes in from the wing seems to run the channel that a second rower runs anyway.
In attack yes, but he doesn’t strike me as someone who would have the defensive work ethic or resolve to play infield and make 30 plus tackles per game.

If this theory is correct I would expect to see a very strong performance against the Sea Eagles on Sunday since we will be fielding 14 -15 of the players who we are banking on moving forward.
. . . . . . . and coming off a bye, that would be really special.

Bring it on. 🤣

Ok , you've obviously never seen the kid play, or had a kid that lost a spot because of him. For starters he's never played consistently in any position throughout his career. He started as a fullback and 5/8 that would dabble with a bit of prop. Then for the Magpies he'd play on the wing, and then moved towards the centres and has this year found his home in the back row.

Granted he's not one of our first choice back rowers, but he's ahead of Sukkar, Godinet, and should start the off season on par with Geyer and Roberts and see who plays where based on form and fitness over the offseason. Seyfarth should be considered a prop exclusively now. A 5th choice prop.
We would be mad not to see how Sol Saukuru develops next season.
He has his faults with lack of work ethic and being a bit suspect in defence on occasions particularly when he is tiring, but he’s big, fast, aggressive and adds plenty of x-factor and strike power when he runs the ball.
I really wanted us to sign someone like Sasagi from the Raiders or Talakai from the Sharks as players that could add versatility off our bench and provide genuine competition to our likely starting edge back rowers in Samuela and KPP, but with some exciting young back rowers prospects in Geyer, Sukkar, Roberts, Saukuru, Godinet and Laupepa, we now have plenty of regular NRL hopefuls which should see one of them emerge as our regular NRL number 15 and the rest of them challenging strongly for that spot.

He's been injured for half of every season for the past 7 years.

Why do we think that will somehow magically change??!

Sure It could, but probability will suggest it won't.
He's actually injured every tackle.

Can be very good on his day, let's hope the injury Gods finally smile upon him.

The best part of 3 weeks off and once again named as fit and healthy to play, no excuses tomorrow.
Can the real Starford To’a please stand up.

But.. Staines wasnt released, and Murray isnt top 30 for next year, so how would that free up anything for a middle?

I've also heard nothing on Bird being shopped. The intention for Bird was never that he would be a consistent feature in our top 17. He's purely depth, is on depth $ and will be gone in 12 months anyway..

We have 2 spots for next year as is. And let's be real, Saukuru and Sullivan would be the first 2 we look to get rid of.
Sullivan yes but Saukuru is young, just move to the second row this season. By all reports it’s going well.
