Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think its more because we are gassed. Most of our forwards play large minutes. Compared to most clubs who share say 4 props playing roughly 40 minutes each. Wea re overworking ours. We are easily 2-3 forwards short.

Without being negative, we had a good year injury wise (compared to every other side outside the 8). If we had a few injuries we would be really stretched, particularly forward wise.
Yep, a bad injury year in the pack would have been ugly.

I think we need to persist with Fonua Pole as he’s one of our better ball running middles, but geez today again demonstrated how passive he is when defending aggressive ball runners such as Taumalolo in the early exchanges.
Surely we are looking to come up with a plan to reduce the workload and increase the impact for both Terrell and Api.

Pole' may be young , got to be close to a 50 game 1st grader , his attitude is blah

Until we find more players who are willing to demonstrate good defensive line speed and hit hard, we are going to continue to continue to leak points too easily.
I can’t see it being an easy fix as most of our forwards are passive defenders, none of them hit hard very often.
And therein is our problem, at the end of the game our smaller forwards got buried by the NQL big pack all our energy was gone.

The Eels starting forward pack and bench last night was much smaller than ours today, so extra size alone is not the answer.
You need players with aggression and a strong desire for collision, the Eels have a few of them with the likes of Hopgood, Jack Williams etc. Who in our current forwards pack really wants to get off the line fast and whack our opposition ? Really only the Fainu boys on occasions and when he’s angry Alex Seyfarth.

100% he is and will be a superstar in a few years IMO

He is a must and would love a 4-year deal signed
wow , they (club ) have really persisted in a passive education with him ,1 year in Reggies ,watching , not participating at all - stand there and watch how the game unfolds . 3 years on ,a few injuries out ,think its time for him to mature

100%

Imagine if May went down instead of Pole? We would have been done.
Even then Pole going down was when our season hit a real rough patch.

Were definately down forwards. We lost Stef, Klem, Bateman and Papalii... The fact that May has replaced all 4 is incredible.
