Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There are Adam Elliott whispers to us, according to Charlie White on this week’s Bye Round podcast with James Graham.
Elliot would push for a spot on the bench , good player but again Newcastle seem to not play him and I’m not sure if it was injury , poor form , but any game I seen him play in he was always pretty tidy , runs hard tackles hard , seems to have that 101% attitude with no brain farts like Seyfarth

Get it done , he is a mongrel , not a super star but a real worker , fills our lock problem

His undoing was his kick off return where he then made an error playing the ball. Momentum killer. I’d give him another run. He’s a real cannon ball.
Sugar coating his potential.
Not a standout in Reggies. Tries hard etc. and a local junior........but if he thinks he is NRL destined...........and St George offers him more $$$$$ than we think he is worth.........it's his decision on whether he stays or goes. Every club has this problem.
It's the ones closest to the scene that have to put a price on the performances, desire and likely potential. We rely on their call. Wont always get it right but they must make the sometimes-hard call.
We can only hope we have good football identification people in place.
Can't pay overs on potential. It becomes a business decision from both sides of the equation.

100%. Id like to see him get another crack but hes not that big unfortunately. Hes built like Sam Moa if you remember him.

I dunno. I think there is something there but now with a prop rotation of May, Pole, Bunty, Twal and potentially Nathan Brown, hes down the pecking order.

He tore his bicep mid-season which ended his year. Should be right to go by now. Although a checkered past with his off-field behaviour, now married & a newborn and getting older would have matured him.

Elliott is a solid lock and also a strong voice on the field and leader with good defence. He is indigenous so could provide a good mentor for our other indigenous lads in Ethan Roberts, Mason & Bula.

Souths juniors have been woeful the last few years

What’s his actual ‘coaching’ resume?
It looks like he actually finished up with the Rabbitohs back in January. Maybe not part of the Bennett regime.

Found this he posted on Linkedin recently ...

In January, I took on the role of coaching the South Eastern Seagulls’ U21s and A-Grade teams and I also began a new role with the Clontarf Foundation, running one of their awesome academies.

While the A-Grade season wasn't as fruitful as we’d hoped, strong foundations have been laid. Compounded by the performance of our U21s, who went through the season undefeated, claiming both the minor premiership and the Grand Final in the NSW Sydney Metro competition.
