Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

From the Penrith press... Looks like the snake has his sights set on a few of our players

Realistically a much smaller and believable list of targets has emerged. It may not be as sexy and glamorous as some of the above names but there are still a few handy players on this hit list including Dylan Walker, Ryan Matterson, Alex Twal, Josh Morris and Esan Marsters.

Expect at least two on that list to be signed and announced in the next month. I’d also expect some names NOT on the above list to join the club as well.

@WT2K names that have already been thrown around.Matterson the only big loss,Twal is solid and Esan struggled this year.

If getting rid of these guys gets Madge another step closer to assembling the squad he wants then I say do it.

@WT2K Good to see other clubs are trying to built there roster unlike our club.. Our club is like the runt of the litter and just sits back and takes the left overs.. Sorry to say this but that's how it feels and the results for the last 9 years back it up. Maybe we are looking into Mannah again as a big signing.. Who know

not bad if you ask me

OK, why don't you have a look at the top 4 ,or even top 8 sides and let me know how many of their back rowers are under 100kgs.

Or I can save you the trouble and tell you: not many. The sharks being the exception.

The 2 teams all ready in the prelim have a secondrow almost identical to the one proposed
Canberra - Whitehead 102kg, Bateman 96kg,
Roosters - Cordner 102kg, Aubusson 96kg

I think there's a bit of an over-fixation on weight. Of course we want most powerful players we can get, but clubs don't give out power stats to the general public.

So what does it matter if a bloke is 101 kg or 99 kg? This isn't cricket, 100 kg has no special meaning.

It doesn't have a special meaning in cricket either, Warnie and Merv say hi.

@hsvjones this is not true though . Ivan built this team , and next year at the moment only Jennings and musgrove will be new additions, on the players Ivan chose .
Yet you use him as an example of good roster management , yet they finished below us , with half the team either leaving or wanting out .
This take has zero grounds for anything reasonable.
He was, and is ,a fraud . Players are under some illusion that he has the magic dust , when in reality it’s Bellamy and Maguire. Mainly because they flog the crap out of the team , and built strength through adversity .
I personally think Robinson isn’t some guru either . He literally had 2 iterations of head scratching mathematical roster management, where he has a team full of origin and internationals.
And won the spoon in between .

Robinson is the same myth as Meninga being one of the greatest coaches ever....had a stint as an origin coach with a team containing up to 4 potential immortals plus other awesome players, and he's some sort of genius? spare me

Meninga’s work at Titans may be more of an accurate measure of his ability

can't wait to see how it unfolds to be honest.

Corey Oates unwanted at Broncos ?

https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/corey-oates-one-of-four-veterans-put-on-notice-as-broncos-clean-house/news-story/8d769433db0c1c819122a17acf5588bf

That article is very interesting specifically this paragraph :

"The news comes after it was yesterday reported Darius Boyd would be told he is not in the club’s plans moving forward and would not reach the 15-games threshold in 2020 that he needs to unlock the clause in his contract that activates an additional year in his deal."

So the Broncs are obviously going to play him in reggies to avoid being stuck with him for an extra year. Plus I wouldn't be at all surprised if they blame him for their late night pokie run and tear his contract up thereby getting out of the massive hole they are in with him. No doubt if this happens the NRL will rubber stamp it.

He wasn't on the pokie run though, Darius still has something to offer, but he is a fullback, not a five eighth

The media named him earlier in the week and said the Broncs would be looking at his poor leadership. Now I find out he wasn't there. The media are a joke.

Except those clubs have front rowers willing to do dirty hit ups and make metres.

The current Tigers front rower specification is to play 36 minutes for 67 metres gained.

The dirty work is done by outside backs and Lawrence
