@The_Patriot i wouldn't want him anywhere near the tigers with his past history mate. I am all for second chances but that's just something I can't cop. Good player though just too much baggage for me Patriot.

So you are not all for second chances if you don’t like it.

Sounds very liberal.

It’s not Tetevano’s 2nd chance. He was charged for bashing his girlfriend 4 times. How anyone could support this signing is beyond me.

There is a chance he may play for us, of course some people are willing to look past his disgusting behaviour!

Yeah that’s pretty bad eh? And yet somehow the guy is not in gaol and is free to play in the NRL, even at international level! I don’t get it at all.

I’m very conflicted - he is a good player and we really need a good prop, and I would welcome his signing, but when I think of what he has done and how he has gotten away with it scot free, it kinda makes me sick. Different to players like Packer, who have shown genuine remorse for their single dog act. This guy has offended 4 times! There is obviously no remorse for his actions there.

To the poster who earlier commented that it was all history, try telling that to his girlfriend, whom I’m sure lives with the trauma of what he has done to her, every single day.

I found it very hard to reconcile having Packer at our club, let alone this!

Plus a fellow forumer is a friend of her and has written about the matter being a horrible one.

He served 9 months for the offences and hasn't re-offended since.

Unfortunately, if the articles are to be believed, he grew up around domestic violence and probably didn't have the best role models around him.

This is not to excuse or minimise the behaviour, however, he's done his time and one can only hope he has learned from his past.

He did his time yes. But the NRL cannot be taken seriously until they are shown to be heavy hitting and consistant with blokes that do appalling things towards women. There's no excuse EVER to abuse women. Sadly, some dispute this. You do that, there should be certain privileges that are gone for good and playing football for mass amounts of cash is one. If you're a repeat offender then there should be absolutely no way back. No sympathy. No more chances. Get lost. You pretend to pee in your mouth or hump a dog you get more punishment apparently. Where's the logic there?

Met Zane Tetevano a few times.
Might not mean much... but he's a lovely guy.
Super friendly & generous.

Can't condone domestic violence but I'm sure he regrets his actions.
No one can enrage us fellas as much as the woman we love.
Some fights can get seriously heated from both parties and women can really add fuel to the fire when really both parties should seek space and gather their thoughts and calm down.

Zane played well this year.
Should prove to be a really good signing.

Not entirely sure Todd was pretending... but other than that you, sir, are bang on

@rustycage lol

like I said, I don't condone it.

it happened, he was charged, he probably regrets it.
heat of the moment, etc.

you white knights need to tone it down.
you know domestic violence is even yelling at your partner during an argument?
i'm sure you've never done that.

but what he did was wrong.
heaps of footy players have done it.
that's why there is education in place for young players coming through to ensure this behavior stops.

anyway, chances are he'll be a 2k20 tiger wether you like it or not.

I don't believe that you don't condone it by what you've written. Pretty disgraceful.

@rustycage

in response to this comment - you want this guy to be banned from sports?
imprisoned for eternity?
unemployed and homeless?

the highest statistic for suicide is;
MALES IN THIS AGE BRACKET. **bolded text**

I would never hit a woman.
But there is more to the story than you'll ever know.
The guy has done the wrong thing.
Has been charged, etc.
but to try and condemn him and want his life to be destroyed because of some heated accidents is absurd.

Now if he was a pedo or something my stance would be different but what your saying is shocking

Dont turn this around. I'm not responding.

@rustycage Nah mate, not turning anything around.
You clearly stated taking away this mans job - probably the only thing he's ever been good at is deserved.

As we all know and have been told our whole lives - assault of any kind is WRONG.
Especially against a woman.
You don't know if he was provoked or if he was attacked as well and was defending himself which is what often happens but the courts don't want to hear that and back the woman every time.
I'm not saying that's what happened as I wasn't there. Neither were you.

The guy seeked counselling and hopefully worked through his demons and it won't happen again.
We gotta look out for each other though and be understanding.

We don't want another Fotuaki or the young fella from NQ.
Pressure from the sporting world is probably a lot as it is.
He obvs has mental illness due to hitting a woman multiple times but wishing the worst upon him isn't addressing any issues.
Him having no career has a trickle effect that would effect his life and those around him as well.
I'm sure he found that out quick when the police came around and cuffed him.

We can forgive but not forget and do everything to ensure the younger generation coming through have an example set.
Zane can learn from his mistakes and be thankful he didn't lose it all, everytime he pulls on a wests tigers jersey and leads us to a grand final.

No need to white knight tho m8,
Everything u said we already know - regarding abuse against women, ABUSE AGAINST ANY FOR THAT MATTER.
Women aren't reading this thinking you're a legend for sticking up for them.
We all know what is right.

I reccmend all people do some weight training and self defence class to protect yourself.
Also any brothers suffering from the black dog - reach out if you need a chat.

@rustycage I get your outrage ! I’m assuming Domestic violence hits you very closely .
But if there is no avenue to foster change , and eventual atonement for our actions , what would be the reason to change said actions . Outside of doing it because laws said so , not because it’s the wrong thing .
Packer and Tetevano both come from a portion of society where DV is a usual occurrence, regardless of thier opinion of it .
If you learnt those behaviours growing up , the likelyhood of you acting them out is exponential.
Unfortunately , the only way for a lot of people to break the cycle is to have a life changing event occur, like going to prison .
As despicable as they are , you can change and remove these behaviours.
If we don’t accept that , however , as a society ,and allow for change , then the cycle continues forever .
Have a good day mate

The heat of the moment? What a stupid/reckless/idiotic comment.

@avocadoontoast oh sorry.. he did it in the calmness of a well thought out premeditated attack.

As stated he did the wrong thing.

Heat of the moment obviously means cooler heads did not prevail.
He and they should of both took some time apart, maybe got counselling and figured out how to address their issues.
Not fight or hurt each other.

Anyways always two sides to a story and it's been dealt with legally.
I hope he has sorted out his demons and continues on the right path.
We all fall down sometimes but it doesn't matter how hard u fit it's about how hard u can get hit and keep moving forward.

I’m surprised you love any women at all. Most of your posts clearly show a disdain for the female gender.

Two sides to every story? He beat her 4 times (that we know of). I don’t give a crap what went down, real men don’t hit women. That simple. It’s indefensible and you should give up now before you sound even more stupid.

@avocadoontoast who's defending him?
If you can read I have clearly stated what he did was and is wrong.

I'm merely stating that we shouldn't wish the worst upon him for some mistakes, albeit serious mistakes he has made.

Also as mentioned the highest suicide rate is men and boys between 14 and 40 or thereabouts.

I hope Zane has sorted his demons out and I hope the young woman has addressed her injuries or any ptsd she may have from the abuse.

But the guy isn't Charlie Manson.
