Way i see it we are hunting either Addo Carr or Johnston, probably have a 800k offer on Arrow as well.

if Addo Car signs we might get a hello hows it going from Latrell at that point we would pull the 800k on Arrow and give it to Latrell.

I don’t get the hate for AJ, he might not be an out and out game breaker like Latrell but in all honesty there’s not many players in the NRL that are. What he is tho is quicker than anyone in our backline and everyone on this forum has been screaming for more speed out wide.

Andrew Everingham scored lots of tries on the wing for Souths. Nathan Merritt scored lots of tries on the wing for Souths. Robert Jennings scored lots of tries on the wing for Souths. Scoring lots of tries on the wing for Souths does not necessarily make you a good player who will be able to perform at another club.

And I totally agree with the exasperation about potentially missing out on LM but go back and read some of the comments on AJ and there is definite hate for his potential signing.

Unfortunately the potential signing of AJ and LM aren’t being looked at as exclusive and people are looking at AJ as being a substitute signing for LM when in actual fact they need to be treated as seperate to each other.

Take LM out of the equation and AJ is not such a bad signing.

I don’t get it Gagai is good enough to play soo yet seen as not good enough to make our side,but I guess with all our speed in our outside backs and so many soo players he whould struggle to make it

The problem is he is reportedly on $750K and he’s worth about half that. Also signing him would free up cash for Souths to sign the better players that are available who we are/should be targeting.

But those better players don't want to come here.

1. I haven’t seen anyone quoted saying that. As far as I’m aware at this stage LM hasn’t committed to anyone, neither has Arrow.

2. 95% of the players want to play for the team that gives them the best offer. I think people are buying in to the “players who want to come here” too much. If you give them the best offer, they’ll want to come.

3. If we do miss all the top line players you don’t go out and sign outcasts from other clubs just for the sake of it, especially one from the club who you are competing with for the better player. That’s how our cap got messed up in the first place.

Arrow was done to Souths 6 weeks ago. Titans have withdrawn his PT’s as well for the off season. Wouldn’t do that if he was staying

I don't think so. I've been critical of Madge attracting talent (so far) but he's no dope. And there's no way he'd be looking to do Souths a favour.

And I totally agree with the exasperation about potentially missing out on LM but go back and read some of the comments on AJ and there is definite hate for his potential signing.

Unfortunately the potential signing of AJ and LM aren’t being looked at as exclusive and people are looking at AJ as being a substitute signing for LM when in actual fact they need to be treated as seperate to each other.

Take LM out of the equation and AJ is not such a bad signing.

Take your point but there is a legitimate fear that AJ would be the same kinda signings as Jennings was (who Souths made look like Willie Carne).

I wonder too. I guess it would be that he's definitely not coming to us, we could use players with the attributes of Johnston/Gagai, there isn't anyone better on the market and other clubs will sign them if we don't.

Not much about at the present time. I would rather keep the money we have and add it to the money we will have next year.

From all accounts we would have quite a bit. More than enough to buy half a team if necessary. Good things come to those that wait.

Obviously you are too young to know about The Tigers and Olsen Filipaina.

This signing would be the same as.

He wasn't too bad at club level Russ, but certainly more consistent with and reliable at emptying our garbage bins when I was a youngster.

Why do they need to be treated as separate to each other, the two signings? They are both potentially for our club, now we are are talking about them both potentially affecting Souths. I don't see how one can take them in isolation, they aren't.

Maybe it's a glass half empty or half full thing, that'ld be fair enough.
