Well let's hope not - couldn't afford the penalty count and the injuries / suspensions.

Its been reported he is on 600k at the raiders. There is no way he is worth that sort of money. Canberra would have to subsidise a fair bit of his 2020 contract. Then 2021 we could be stuck with another overpaid under achiever.

#1 analytically rated centre off contract in 2020 or 2021. So atleast they are looking in better areas now

BJ linking up with his Samoan bros.

He cops a bit of hate but hes aggressive and tough.
Something we always complain about our team lacking.

If we can get some speed along side him, it'll be good.

If tigers can get a contract for anything under 600k a season for him it’s +ev buy.

Doueihi continues to be linked to Wests Tigers, but his heavily back-ended deal – more than $500,00 this year and $600,000 next year – has stalled neogitations.

Like the Tigers, Melbourne were also interested in Doueihi – as a centre, not a fullback – but were not interested unless Souths picked up a big part of his contract. - SMH.

Seems to be some interest in Doueihi. I wonder what value Tigers and Storm place on him?

The Tigers had floated the prospect of signing Joey before Christmas but those discussions are back on the table.

Luciano looms as an obvious drawcard for the Tigers after settling into the club seamlessly having joined from St George Illawarra in the off-season.

“We spoke about it the other day,” Luciano said. “He didn’t know much about it until his manager spoke to him. They are trying to see their options and they will go from there.

“It’s an option, 100 per cent. He was in the same position as I was (at the Dragons). It’ll be good to get another veteran in here. It would be good and exciting for the club.”

The move makes sense for the Raiders and the Tigers. Leilua is in the final year of his $600,000 contract with the Raiders and is unlikely to be retained. Canberra signed Melbourne’s Curtis Scott in the off-season to bolster an already star-studded backline.

The Tigers are also on the lookout for a marquee outside back. They missed out on Latrell Mitchell and have been linked to a host of other players including Adam Doueihi and Josh Addo-Carr.

The sticking point of the deal will be how much Joey Leilua, 28, expects in 2021 and beyond.

“I’ve sold the club to him,” Leilua said. “I’ve told him we are building a new culture here as a club we want to go in a different direction and build onto what we as a club want. That’s important. I told him the opportunities here if you want to come here. The club will give you its full support.

“I told him if you want to come back to Sydney, come back to Sydney — you’ve been away for a bit. I told him he will love the club and the environment.”

The signing of Leilua would also allow Moses Mbye to shift to hooker to cover for the uncertainty surrounding Josh Reynolds. Playing for Samoa at the end-of-year World Nines was the first time the pair had taken the field at the same time — they’ve never faced off in an NRL match.

“It would be a good opportunity for us to play each other,” Leilua said. “It was good to pick his brain and how he goes into a game and for him to see how I go into a game.”

Do it - Never knock back a BJ.

Best NRL centre in the game for mine and is worth 600k imo. Wouldnt have an issue paying hiom that for a couple of years

i hope the mail is wrong he said AD announced monday

Hope the mail is right and we announce Ad Monday and BJ tuesday.

BJ didn't go on Raiders 10 day pre season camp to QLD so you can be sure he won't be with them

Both of them would be more then we could have hoped for and gives our backline real strike

Now we are talking (re BJ). Sure he does some dumb things and gives away penalties but he is a real handful and scores tries. He is a potential attacking weapon and unlike everyone else discussed so far, is a specialist in his position.

Every potential signing is a risk and BJ would be as well but he is one I think worth taking. We at least know the upside and downside. Everyone else we seem to be linked to is "potenial".

"He was in the same position I was" (at the Dragons). Kinda sounds like he's speaking as though the deal is already done?

That's what I was thinking whilst reading the article.

Rabbits were 7/12 wins with Doueihi at fullback last year..

His stats aren't amazing, pretty average. Corey Thompson's are better. But then again, stats arent everything.

How good is Luciano at selling the club? A few really good positive interviews with him and it seems genuine. Like the guy already.

How nice to read Leilua talking our club up. So refreshing. I know my frustrations are borne out of continuing to hear people talk negatively of my club. To hear him say he told his brother the WestsTigers are are great club is so pleasing to hear
