Makes sense for both parties. Roosters will need a winger and JAC will go to a premiership favourite

Hence the difference between our club and a 'destination club' like the Roosters. We will become a destination club, I have no doubt, but it will take a few years of good solid finals footy to get there. But I do believe we are on the right path.

It’ll take a few years of stability, no drama and finals footy to make us a destination club. Madge has taken the first steps towards doing that.

That UK prop Thompson according to the SMH will be on 800 pa.. To me that puts him in the elite category. I don't believe he is at that level yet. I'm glad we didn't waste out money on him.

Yes but I am not sure he is worth the outlay. The upside on a motivated Musgrove is much greater than a very highly paid UK forward. It is about spending efficiently.

He'd be in the top few props in the league on pay - behind Klemmer and Haas. Is he that good? I doubt it. I'd back Stefano to have a better NRL career!
With Twal, Mikaele, Utoikamanu that already a young, strong prop rotation, all on the same money as Thompson by himself. Then add in Musgrove and Aloiai, and other young props like Etu Liu and we're looking solid.

I know our young forwards look very promising but it will be difficult for them to play consistent footy against the best forward pack in the competition, and personally I think it’s the weakest aspect of our team at the moment, one really good prop would round the team out.

In saying that there’s every chance someone like Musgrove, Mikaele or Twal play their best footy ever and smash it for us.

Broncos are regarded as having one of the better packs in the game but they only have one forward in their predicted 17 who is over 24. I'm not worried about the age of our pack at all. I think there is a lot of quality and size there.

I would prefer it if we had a seasoned pack leader but the absence of one may have its benefits- the mantle is there for the taking so Mikaele, Aloiai, Twal and Musgrove should all be motivated to step up and be the dominant forward.

They’ve got fellas that are already playing origin. Like I said there’s a chance our guys get that good but as of yet they haven’t shown it enough. It’s a risk relying on them to perform against teams like raiders and Storm with their forward packs. Fingers crossed our young forwards hit a new level this year

For sure. We’re definitely looking for a leader out there so I’m keen to see who steps up

Just reading the last few posts I have to say Packer is the leader we need. If he is fit and if he is motivated he can be an intimidating and aggressive forward leader. With our current pack we need him to play this role and inspire the younger blokes to be their best.
