I'd have Jennings instead of Nofo but other than that I agree.

You've got to be kidding me...

Nofo is too short and too slow to be on the wing imo.

Nofa needs to improve something that’s for sure. Can finish in the corner and runs out of his own end well - but so do majority of modern day wingers, difference is a lot of them are quicker and better in the air than him.

Spot on. Hit ups and finishing in the corner is something pretty much every winger can do. He's no threat in open space and the new rule changes will only emphasise his defensive weaknesses. I thought he was one of our weakest at the 9's, Corey and Jennings looked far better.

He was our worst outside backs at the nines by a long way. Even Jennings looked faster and more dangerous. Hopefully with BJ inside him he can excel this year because on his own he has no ability to create any try scoring opportunities besides catching the ball and putting it down.

Nofo is a bit player from now on as with Rowdy good injury replacements...

Nofa will probably start most of the year. We don’t exactly have a fantastic replacement for him and he’ll look better with Leilua next to him

If Corey and Jennings are playing better (which they are) i'm not sure why Madge would select him tbh.

Madge likes him and I can understand why. He works his ass off on and off the field, gives 200% all the time and all the players would love playing with him. He’s a bloke you want in your team. If he does terribly Thompson could play on the right side with no problems but I think Nofa will go alright this year having a class centre inside him.

Just wish he was a bit quicker and had some better footwork.

If you want inside info, why would you want him?

Mr Fix-It Mbye still prepared to be everywhere man

He's played six positions through his seven-season senior career and Wests Tigers co-captain Moses Mbye says he's no closer to settling on one as the start of the 2020 season draws near.

The former Bulldog has been used at centre and fullback in his two seasons at Concord having also played a bench utility for Queensland last year and as a hooker, halfback and five-eighth in his time at Canterbury.

With Robbie Farah retired, Jacob Liddle injured and a Harry Grant swap deal seemingly dead in the water, Mbye is facing a return to the dummy-half role he first tasted in the 2014 grand final coming in for an injured Michael Ennis in just his ninth NRL game.

"Everything's been going really good – I did a bit of work with the back five, I've been through the halves as well," Mbye told NRL.com."I'm covering all bases as usual. I've been doing it for five or six years. It's actually quite enjoyable to play a few different positions and learn a few different skill sets."

Mbye said he wasn't yet sure if the club's hopes of nabbing Storm reserve hooker Grant for a year was officially off but if it doesn't happen, he backed himself, Josh Reynolds and Billy Walters to fill the breach. How the captain's challenge will workHow the captain's challenge will work

"We are happy with what we do have in the ranks of nines," he added.

"We've got Josh Reynolds there. We've got Billy Walters there, some quality players to fulfil the role whether we get Harry or not. If we get him it will be a bonus to our depth, if we don't we've got players to fill that role."

Walters is traditionally a five-eighth like his father, Broncos and Maroons great Kevin – though uncles Steve and Kerrod were top-tier No.9s."I think he would certainly be competent in the role, he's tough enough and got the skill set to do it, he's come from a really good system [at Melbourne] and applied himself really well in his first year at the Tigers," Mbye added.

Mbye has played 20 of his 26 games for the Tigers at fullback and while ready if required, doesn't anticipate playing there with Corey Thompson and Adam Doueihi pushing each other at training. "Corey, it's his spot, he played some really high-quality footy for us last year and was great around the small effort areas and brought a lot to our side when he went back to fullback," Mbye said.

"Doueihi's a quality player, I think he's come over here as a fullback. It's healthy competition and adds to our depth. He certainly fits in but I don't know where at the moment.

"I guess time will tell after a few trials, we'll start playing footy and see what sort of a role he plays and what he brings to our team. He's a quality player which is what we're looking for."

All the fires are out so there’s no smoke anymore.

Interesting article, sounds like Corey's still got the fullback spot

I would be shocked if Corey is fullback in round 1, Doueihi will be fullback for sure, we didn't chase him that hard for nothing

Ok he may be short but he’s not slow.
He backed himself to pick up Sami in the nines. He didn’t catch him but Sami didn’t make any more ground than his jump start imo.

Agree 851. We not only chased him but we’re willing to pay him twice as much as we pay Corey, because he wanted to play 1.

Are you serious? Nofo looked like he was stuck in quicksand. Sami just ran away from him!

Well he definitely made a poor choice not staying with Sami imo. But Sami went from 30 to 39 in a blink and put a gap between him and Nofa which Nofa could not close. So I’m saying Nofa went almost stride for stride
I’ll watch it again.
Someone should pull Nofa aside and tell him to do what Sami did , stop running on the spot. He can break 4 tackles but not make any metres.

Shame we missed out on Sami. He looks the goods.

How about giving nofa a break he is what we have for the time been. He gives his all, if we had speeders siting in the cc that would be different but he is the best we have, and I for one love his efforts.
