Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Ethan parry released by Parra. Would be a good signing, but with the ridiculous current situation with Canterbury Cup maybe not that much use for us this year

I have a feeling our 32 man squad may be full? We’ve got thirty first graders and quite a few development players too. Not sure exactly how it all works but he’s a talented winger we could use someone his size

NRL have apparently given the warriors approval to sign players from rival clubs on short term loan deals according to the telegraph.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a few of our boys sent there for a few weeks. Keeps them fit and gives them an opportunity to earn a spot in first grade.

I’m sure a lot of clubs would consider it. Not just us.

I agree it’s a good way to get your players some game time and see how they’re going. Warriors deserve the help too after the sacrifices they’ve made.

Interesting to see how long the hospitality lasts if the warriors start winning

Knowing our luck we will lend them players that score the winning tries to knock us out of the finals
Presto 9th again

I wonder how true this is.... genuinely wouldn’t surprise me, we need a winger like him at the club. Hopefully we can find a good one for next year.

Packer could return to Warriors

Speaking of the Tigers, there are discussions around a potential loan deal involving Russell Packer returning to the Warriors for the next month. Packer is unlikely to be in the Tigers’ best 17 in the first round back, and the club believes he would benefit from a stint with the Warriors given there isn’t a lower-grade competition for him to imporve his match fitness. (SMH)

Hopefully it would save on our clubs rehab costs when he inevitably gets injured again

I know the game is in unchartered territory, but I don't like the idea of loaning players for a month. The Grant / Momo deal is a bit different due to the length if the deal and it is in effect a swap. The Packer rumour just takes loyalty out if the game.

Its literally a loan to keep the NRL as it stands afloat . Otherwise the warriors could go belly up . You’re over thinking it dude . Also loans are the future. It’s time the NRL joined the 21sr century

People would’ve been ballistic... then everyone would’ve calmed down once he started scoring tries for us

Soccer has been doing it forever. It’s a really good idea I feel in certain scenarios but having reserve grade there means it wouldn’t be as common compared to soccer I think.

Looks like we are heading that way. This was from yesterday. Graham Annesley quoted.

"Once the Commission signs off on the rule, the same rule will apply to all clubs subject to meeting the guidelines of course."

Soccer has reserve grade dude. It’s called academy football . Or reserves . I’m pretty sure we(aussies) have a few players killing it at that level .

Great we will take Munster Tedesco and Taumalolo as we need those guys...

That level is used by the young guys in the academy but it’s still a lot different to having the young guys out there playing in a more serious competition with different players of all ages at a seperate club. That’s why a lot of the talented young guys get loaned out it gives them better experience than the academy

I mean we need a tall athletic winger who can score tries. Folau fits the bill perfectly, he signed Musgrove who had recent criminal charges so signing Folau probably wouldn’t be an issue for him.

Yeah I don't like the idea either. What happens if you loan a player to another team and they get injured? What about if it's a long term injury? They brought in last year that clubs could apply for dispensation when a player gets long term injured.

But how about when we loan a player to another club, and the player gets injured during a game. They are advised to stay on the field as the medical staff think it's not too bad, but later it's found out that the injury is more extensive then they thought, and staying on likely made the injury worse.

Na forget it. How does it advantage us to make our opponents stronger? Match fitness? Not a big enough carrot for mine.
