Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Is it meant to be ironic that simultaneously there are 2 conversations going on about 2 players from a club, 1 being caught up to mischief on video , there other having been caught up to mischief now being pushed as a signing ?

Does anyone know where Alex Johnston is going?

The Morris bros won't be able to play forever. With all the spare cap space I'd speculate the Roosters.

He’s lowering team morale making players feel inadequate after they hit the showers.

Although old, I'm sure professional help can assist. We don't need this at our club. That cLub and it's culture requires investigation.

I heard 2nd hand it was a 5yr old video

I heard that as well. We can do without this at our club.

Didn’t hurt anyone, no crime committed. Seems like a dog act releasing it tbh (no pun intended)

Actually, it's not only people who have joined the forum recently who get attacked when they report a rumour. Long standing members are also subjected to a "pile-ons" in similar circumstances.

Milky copped it from all sides when he provided inside info in the off season that JAC was not even close to coming to the WT this year. In fact the pile-on was so severe that it may have discouraged him from posting again, which is a shame.

Personally, I'm happy to read rumours, and it take it all with a pinch of salt.

I don't like the talk of Benji being shipped around. Surely the best thing for all concerned is for him to fish his career as a Tiger.

Reynolds is going well at the moment but who knows what could happen over the course of the season.

If genuine we should refuse that release every day of the week. Reynolds hasn't put together an uninjured season in a long time. I think Benji will still be needed this season.

Its genuine i have a mate that is a players agent and he does not talk BS.

All player agents would be full of BS it would be safe to say.
Benji would get a gig at 3 or 4 teams if he was really keen to get a game at another club.

Well let's see what transpires, just giving other forum members a heads up, comments like yours ensure i should not share reliable information in future.

I do believe that the manager is looking for a quick buck and been testing the waters and Benji has stated no harm in asking otherwise why would he?
This Information also has got out, questions no doubt asked by Club/Madge that's why a quick denial not to disrupt the playing group or fans.

Feel free to share by all means but when someone who's been on this forum for less than a month claims inside info they need to deliver before anyone can take a word you said seriously. Until then, grain of salt...

It would be a tragedy for benji to leave the Tigers this season. He knows it. The club knows it. It would yet again tarnish his reputation if he decides to bail on his club after being dropped for a few games and destroy some of his legacy. It would show that he's weak, arrogant, selfish, lazy and he'd risk all that for 10 games with the warriors to finish his career? And if he concedes more tries when in a weaker team he ends up retiring a joke. Benji wants to go out a champ, and champs fight for their spot, so everything they can to get picked again and please their fans. If he can't be bothered doing so in his final season it would be a tragedy for him. We also don't have a backup for him so there's that too. Experiences backups on minimal coin don't grow on trees and we couldn't replace him mid season. All of this adds up to him staying.

Good call about delivering prior, although i never said that Benji was leaving the Manager is shopping him around, i think it would tarnish his reputation with the Tigers if he left initially.
Let's see what transpires as for the sensitive feedback i don't like it when my mate is called out for BS and categorized similar to all player managers, neither would others if your a real mate, Cheers.

We've had players family's on here had to leave because comments cut close to the bone... Don't take comments personally or it will be difficult for you

Canterbury Bulldogs launch probe into leaked video involving Adam Elliott
The Canterbury Bulldogs have confirmed they are investigating a video which surfaced online involving Adam Elliott.

The club has taken the matter up with the NRL's Integrity Unit.

The Bulldogs released the following statement on Thursday evening:

"The Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs would like to confirm that they are aware of a video having surfaced involving Adam Elliott," the statement read.

"The video relates to something that was filmed at a private gathering five years ago."The club has informed the NRL Integrity Unit of the matter."

Today's news comes after the Bulldogs were previously at the front of an off-field scandal involving former players Jayden Okunbor and Corey Harawira-Naera. The duo had registrations cancelled by the NRL for their role in the schoolgirl scandal back in February.

SIX MILLION REASONS WHY THE TIGERS HAVEN’T FORGIVEN CLEARY

There’s’ still plenty of ill-feeling between the Wests Tigers and Penrith almost two years on from the departure of Ivan Cleary.

The reason? For starters, try the four-year contracts worth a collective $6 million for Russell Packer and Josh Reynolds.

With all the current talk about player agents managing coaches and gaining too much control at clubs it’s worth remembering Cleary is managed by the same company as Packer and Reynolds.

Cleary then jumped off the bus to re-join the Panthers at the end of 2018 while Packer and Reynolds remain at Concord until the end of 2021.

It’s bent the Tigers salary cap ridiculously out of shape and meant the club has been trying to shift Packer for the last 18 months since Michael Maguire arrived.

Packer still hasn’t forgiven Cleary for leaving the way he did and neither has Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe, the man who recruited the coach to Concord.

Once great mates who were regulars on family holidays together, the pair still haven’t spoken since Cleary quit the club with two years remaining on his contract.

Reynolds has ripped in at training to fight his way back into the NRL and gets a crack against Nathan Cleary when the Tigers host Penrith at BankWest on Saturday night.

The NRL is currently having a close look at stopping player agents from managing coaches.

I had forgotten that bit about Cleary being managed by the same Agent as Packer and Reynolds - puts a whole different slant on those deals. Here I was thinking Ivan was just stupid and desperate at the time - what a snake, I dislike him even more now and can understand why Pascoe would feel betrayed and not want to speak to him.

Yup, one heck of a dodgy business behind the scenes.

I think Paul Kent alluded to it on 360, not this particular scenario but the fact management of both a coach and a player get up to this sort of thing.

Clubs like us suffer from it the most.
