I was reading with incredulity that Connor Watson is on $600k. I don't believe he is worth anywhere near that figure. Brooks apparently is on less than that amount.

Chad Townshend's stats are pretty average. I'd say there was more upside to keeping their young half now at the Roosters especially. With his goalkicking.

What would you think of having a look at another Roosters young half. Lachlan Lam, five-eight stuck behind Keary, former Aus Schoolboy. Had a decent season for the Bears last year in limited games, 13 games (10 try assists, 4 tries).

Roosters will keep any player good enough to play NRL with a couple of notable exceptions. I like the look of Madden who is one of those players whom improves incrementally. But Lam looks a good player and with who is father is should have a good career.

cause Joseph Ratu may be a option or even Johns

They need to be contracted NRL players..

Otherwise there would be a plathora of ISP/Q Cup players looking for a run atm..

I actually dont think hes any of that…just a very talented young bloke …yep, self confident for sure, but you have to back yourself …who saw a club in the roostes that had stable management and coaching staff who cld bring the best out of him,and importantly support players who cld take some of the defensive focus from him and allow him to flourish.
I wld have made exactly the same decision tbh,but given WTs support during his legthy injury periods I wld have been more upfront and honest…and wld be donating $$ to the WTs junior system that enabled him to be the $$$ player he is today.
Were all different…but I still support Teddy despite the past…cant stand Moses or Woods(for different reasons)

Tedesco's dead to us mate.

I can understand his decision, i.e. the reasons why he would make it, much like I can understand why Hitler decided to invade Russia. Don't support it as a decision though.

Tedesco held off giving the Tigers an answer, and desperate as we were to retain him, we let Paps go and didn't make any Plan B. There is no Plan B when it comes to Tedesco. Then he goes to the Roosters, of all clubs in the world who don't NEED a player of his calibre.

Goes to Roosters for reportedly the same above-table salary Tigers offered him, perhaps even slightly less. Dog.

Just maybe we shld have held off on Papy until Tedesco had committed...like a well run club/business surely wld have? Its really about the clubs welfare first. Most other clubs get that.
Having said that,we have a woeful record with tiny but talented fullbacks(Gallant/McDonnell/Mullaney)and whilst theyve all had different coaching staff at WTS,Im unconvinced Papy wld have evolved into the player he is today without the support of stable and patient coaching staff.Thats pretty damning of WTS,and I hope Madge can change this.
Am looking forward to seeing our current backs improve at the same rate as our forwards(Nofa excepted, who has had a killer season)

We have a woeful record of tiny but talented fullbacks you say....

Then you name (Gallant/McDonnell/Mullaney).

Put them all together and they wouldn't make one tiny talented full back.

Not convinced Paps would have done anything with us, apart from speed I don't think he has much to offer myself.

I would much rather have AD.

ummm..Brett Hodgson punched above his weight...

What does Papenhuyzen have to do to convince some on the forum he us the real deal? When Mitchell was SG Ball player of the year, he was HM player of the year. Aust Schools, NSW under age and Storm No 1. Thought of highly by Slater, one of the best ever.

We got Lolohea, the Storm Papenhuyzen. Which club can pick talent?

If we are looking for a young half Sam Walker is one to look out for.
Pretty sure he is on the Roosters books and will turn 18 later this year. Is another young QLDer (we seem to be collecting them atm). Be a hard task prying him away from the Roosters but would be a big coup.
Has shades of Dylan Brown.

Let’s not forget almost every club in the league didn’t want to sign him either. Storm got him as their third string fullback and he only get a run due to injuries. He’s done well since then but knowing every club turned him down makes me feel a little better about us letting him go, plus we thought Teddy was staying

Korobeite, JAC and Papenhuyzen. There is a pattern that we don't like pacey backs at WTs. No sir, the slug brigade will do just fine.

Geo, I would take Hodgo back tomorrow as FB if it were possible to do that.

Paps is nowhere near as good at this stage and he would have to develop a football brain before I would consider him.

Agreed. My thinking was that with his preferred position being five-eight he could play with Brooks/Madden, rather than block Maddens path. His family ties might make him difficult to pry away, but he is off contract and with them already having Keary/Flanagan now and Walker coming through he may see more opportunity elsewhere.

None of them WANTED to stay - you just can't seem to comprehend that.

Maybe we need to chain some players to the Latchem Robinson stand - then you won't have to have a go at the club all the time.

Did anyone bother with an exit interview to ask why three very talented players wanted to leave? It appears the Club put all its efforts into the Tedesco basket and we know how that ended.

I note your comment about Hodgson. He was a solid club footballer, nothing more. He will always be remembered for the Tallis tackle. Garry Jack was way above Hodgson and despite him not being at the club, it would be nice to see Pspenhuyzen folliw in his footsteps.

JAC snuck off out the back door while our CEO was on holidays. I'm sure an interview would of been forthcoming if JAC had waited for Pascoe to return (like he was reportedly asked to do). If a rat wants to do the dirty and scurry away under the cover of darkness there is not much you can do to stop it.

We all have rose coloured glasses on when it comes to our favourite players. I get it and being a good club footballer is a great achievement. Very few can make it to the top. Jack did and so did Brasher. Both played for Wests and Balmain and achieved higher honours because they were supremely talented.

Really leaving a player of his quality unsigned when Bellamy is around is asking for that to occur. We failed to secure him.

Playing with higher honours is a great achievement indeed ..however neither won a Premiership with their respective Clubs..

Brett Hodgson did..no matter either way you cut it Hodgson was a major contributor to that..
