Anyone want Jack Bird for 500 000 a year? Broncs have officially said he is free to go and they will pay half.

He would be a massive upgrade on Lawry / Chee Kam...a utility forward we could throw in at center when needed.

Injuries a big worry though....

Wouldn't want Bird for 500 thousand cents myself.
Cardboard cutout is better than the "beast", pussycat really and he is nowhere near as good as Rowdy (even at the end of his run).

Everyone’s going on like we have second rowers and we didn’t need him. Just pointing out that we really needed second rowers. I’m sure Madge will sign someone good so I’m not stressing

I can only assume it's our training premises - we've often heard in the past what a joke it is, and you see it on players social media.

Gutted we missed out on CHN - wonder how hard we went there. He is a really good player, for what I'd assume would be a very good price.

It’s a poor excuse for not signing with us, imo. Our training facilities are good enough for the guys playing with us now and we are one of the fittest squads running around. Not to mention there is a Centre of Excellence not far on the horizon.

Our greatest asset *at the moment* is potential, opportunity to play and development. Not entirely attractive to established players. Other players can see what our team may become whereas in the past what did we have? There's lots of opportunity for fringe and potential players to get more game time but more importantly, free agents will see the competitiveness and improvement players are making under Maguire. And when we finish our COE it'll no doubt help.

We don't have the cash like the Dogs or Broncos or the opportunities post-career or off the field that other sides can offer, we don't have a cut-price beach house or apartment 15 minutes from training to offer like half the competitors do and we're not the home of Indigenous culture. And while Wests Ashfield is making cash how's it compare to Panthers or Wests Newcastle?

Glad we didn't throw cash at CHN tbh. Build slowly and see what comes along.

When is news not news hahaha. They say they had $300k in the cap. Probably still have $295k left now

It is just so annoying, they have a stacked roster, but somehow have a spare $300k, the salary cap is really working well, hurry up and get Vlandy's on to the cap rorting, that would help the game

Isn't Bateman gone for the rest of this year? Maybe they got cap relief.

I dont get it....roosters talking to sbw contract circa $150k but discussions around after career opportunities. That's cheating.....but they will get away with it if nothing signed and no-one dobs. My god we must have been stupid to get pinged for this

I wouldn’t be complaining about missing out on Latrell. AD is playing twice as well for half the coin.

I wouldn’t be complaining about missing out on Latrell. AD is playing twice as well for half the coin.

Hindsight is wonderful, plenty wanted him here, some suggesting we go as high as $1.4m, we offered plenty and got rejected, we even went back with a bigger offer and got rejected again, lets see how JAC contracts go, the way of CHN I would expect, something is amiss

Yep no chance. As I said yesterday it will be Roosters for his swansong and no doubt he will go out with another premiership ring. You can see it coming a mile away, it’s just what these elite players do.

If SBW ends up at the Rorters PVL should have a press conference and explain to every supporter of the game how they were able to manage it
