Crazy idea and probably a bad one but hear me out. We have young halves coming through but probably not ready yet, we have many halves in the squad so it would be a waste to sign another one next year.

With Brooks at 6, I wonder if it’s worth giving Mbye a go at 7 next year. He’s our captain, a natural half and maybe putting him there might bring the best out of him by giving him that responsibility.

Yep absolutely crazy idea, you got that right. Mybe is a natural nothing. I would say being at 9 this week is probably Mbye’s last chance. The next step is out of here. Mybe is a sympathy Captain, that’s all. Should never have been appointed captain and inspires absolutely no one.

At best maybe Madge was hoping it would encourage Mbye to go to the next level. It has had the exact opposite effect. ***Mybe would have to be one of, if not the worst captain Wests Tigers has had.***

Not even close. Until he goes on national television, throws the club under the bus than walks out, then maybe.

You reckon Farah should be looked on as a worse captain than Mbye? Not one of the smartest things you have said.
Farah busted his ring every week and demanded his teammates follow. Mbye would make a great politician by comparison.

He means Woods

Not one of the smartest things I've said. Indeed! Thanks for reminding me, I'd forgotten all about Shazza.

Not often you see a captain leave a club for a bigger contract. Don’t blame him for leaving mind you, but looks so bad when your captain walks out on you.

I think it goes deeper than that. It was not simply the case of a captain leaving for a better offer. While he "pretended" to negotiate with us he was secretly meeting with the Dogs and attempting to convince them to take Tedesco and Moses as well.

Let's be clear about this; this is the club captain shopping himself and our best players around to another club while they pretended to be continuing negotiations with us.!

It was a gross act of disloyalty !

I'll never forgive him for that. Not that my censure would worry him - although I will say that his career has been on a downward spiral ever since - poetic justice I say !

Yeah Madge definitely seems the kind of coach to give the captaincy out of sympathy and not hard work

At best maybe Madge may have been hoping it would encourage Mbye to go to the next level. It has had the exact opposite effect. Mybe would have to be one of, if not the worst captain Wests Tigers has ever had.

Mbye is captain of a club who is slowly turning their culture around and he’s part of that whether You like it or not. As a player he’s not been that good, but it’s hilarious when people think that Madge would’ve picked someone out of pity. Madge makes selections off hard work and as fans we’ll never see what happens behind the scenes that influenced Madge’s choice.

Mbye is a dud. Full stop.
Offers no leadership qualities whatsoever out on the field. He's a mute.
That experiment has failed, time to change.

As much as Scott Prince turned maggot the way he left our club, as a captain he was great. Always pushing, barking at teammates to keep the effort up- even in games we were winning comfortably. He was always striving for more out of them. I haven't seen Mbye say boo out on the field this year at least.

It’s almost like a half has to bark orders all game. Can’t say I see many centres doing that much talking out on the field. Clearly Mbye leads where it counts besides on the field, the fans see about 10% of everything the players do. Madge doesn’t pick someone as captain for no reason, he trusts Mbye to help rebuild the club and change the culture.

Hear what you are saying BUT....

1 The West Tigers is a Rugby League Football Club - 100% in existence to play football, to win games, to make money so it can survive.

2 There are some tangents to this, community work, charities, hospital/sick fans to visit, schools etc. etc.

Mbye maybe very good at the tangents, however if the club goes down the tube, so do the tangents.

Mbye is not a captains bootlace, I don't care who appointed him - HE NEEDS TO BE UNAPPOINTED NOW!!!!

This has gone on long enough, I don't care about his feelings, he is not doing his job as a captain nor as a player.

He is the most expensive piece of dead wood ever bought, throw him out with the other dead wood before he brings the whole club down.

Agree Russ he shouldnt be captain but would rather see Mmbye on the bench than walters or Reynolds etc
would mean we would not need a MCK or Lawrence etc for centre coverage and could carry another prop

Pantai may be overrated, but he is what we need and if Madge can get him under control he would be a great buy would go to $700 , also if reports are correct young Flanagan maybe be up against it at the roooters , he would also be good for us as a 1/2 and a top class goal kicker .

Rumours Gareth Widdop may be returning to the NRL

Massive yes from me he’s still only 31 so has a solid 2-3 more good years and he’s an absolutely incredible goal kicker from memory

Him and Brooks as a combo could be lethal as much as I like Foran would much prefer Widdop

I thought Widdop went back because he was homesick?

Wants a return for "family reasons"
Sounded out dragons. potential player swap with Corey Norman (share same manager) If drags can't move Norman, he'll look at other NRL clubs. Same DT article had this..

The Dragons could also lose boom young winger Jason Saab at season’s end after his manager and the club met on Tuesday. St George Illawarra will give the 19-year-old permission to negotiate with rival clubs with the likes of Manly, Wests Tigers and Canterbury set to make a play. The Dragons are seeking a player in return.

Saab is contracted until the end of 2022 but has agitated for a release on multiple occasions this year. The club denied him a mid-season exit. **Saab has grown tired of the commute from Merrylands to Wollongong for training and wants to move to a club closer to the family home.**

Poor, poor Jason. What a baby. If that's his attitude, I'm not sure he'd get on with Madge. What's that, a 45 minute drive? Please. What the hell's wrong with these youngens?

Is Corey Norman a player we could use? Seem to have problems at the Eels and has not cementedca spot at Dragons? 200 NRL games and can goal kick as well. Plays full back and in the
Halves. Will be 30 when next season starts.

Please no. That sort of signing would have me reaching for the bottle for reasons other than celebratory.

I would be devastated if that was the grand final

I think any combination of teams left in the genuine race for the premiership would be bad. Panthers, Storm, Roosters, Souths or Parra winning the GF would be extremely hard to swallow. Sharks only slightly less. Only Canberra or Newcastle would be enjoyable to see win the Premiership IMO.
No other teams outside of those 8 has a hope in hell of being Premiers this year.

The comp being called off in 2 months time would be best-case scenario (obviously not through COVID deaths but hopefully through some other reason).

Tedesco at rorters has won a premiership so if he wins more I don't really care

Moses Matterson the weirdo Cleary family can all suffer without a premiership ring if possible
