I thought we were all going to back Maguire because change had to come which involved some thrashings as youngsters were exposed to the NRL. Seems some have abandoned the ship instead of staying in the course of a long term future.

It sucks that we have to rebuild again, but look at the squad and tell me if we ever did it properly to begin with?

We lost so many talented players between 2012 and 2017, and since we can't recruit, the only way we will get back to where we were is to develop a whole new crop.

Twal, Aloiai, the Leiluas, Nofo are the core. Eisenhuth, Doueihi, Talau, Packer belong in the 17 too. AJ deserves some time and I'm hoping Liddle and/or Simpkin get a run.

That gives you 10 or 11 guys for 2021, I thought we were in ok shape a couple of weeks ago but now I think we have seen the truth.

There is space for 7 or 8 new players in our best 17, I'd throw a big offer at Staggs, I'd even offer sezer or foran a contact and I vomited in my mouth writing that. The rest might have to come from players who are hungry to prove a point from other systems.

I'm not sold on Nicho Hynes. You have to be wary of Melbourne depth players. Craig Bellamy selects and trains his players in a very specific way. A lot of them have certain things in their game which would negatively affect their game in other structures. In particular, they are often one-dimensional players, as they are trained to only perform one role in one situation. Ask them to "play what you see" and they often can't do it.

Bellamy only lets his best players play outside the structure. Cam & Brandon Smith, Munster and K Bromwich. Consider a game of chess. Those guys are your queen, knights and bishops. Everyone else is a pawn.

If Hynes and Meaney swapped teams for this game Meaney would look just as good if not better.

Normally when you see a bloke play once or twice and say "why isn't he regularly in first grade?", there's a reason for it. Legitimately good footballers don't spend their careers in reserves. Hynes is 24 years old, it's not as if clubs aren't aware of him.

Lets be serious for a second... We may as well change this thread to "Junior Signing suggestions & Rumours" As we have NO chance of recruiting any high quality players here after another quality display.. There is no way a player is going to choose us over any other team unless it is massive money and sets up his retirement... And I don't blame them because I wouldn't come..
Our club has said we are investing in juniors but deep down I think they are trying to save face as they know no one wants to come here..
I would love nothing more to be proven wrong but I just don't see it and it's been like this for 8 years.

I know people will say “oh crap we keep hearing this every bloody year” ..... but with the roster and recruitment policy path we are on at present ..... we are ging to “stay patient”.
It may seem that the coach and the players have lost the plot and that the coach has lost the playing group ..... but I have confidence that overall “this year” we are about where we should be with the resources we have this year.
Just have a good look at the obvious gaps that we have.

We used to have an ‘exclusive’ alignment with Keebra Park. I believe that has not been changed to being a feeder club for the gold coast titans.
There will always be kids at those schools that other clubs are already alligned to. However improve the relationship as a whole and identify and harness the relations, make clearer pathways through to senior football for Wests Magpies / Tigers and there may be more kids inclined to stay within our catchment area.

It’s all about giving the kids an opportunity.

We are also infiltrating the Westfield sports high. Their teacher / coach of their schoolboys team is our jersey flegg coach.

Um, maybe because we have the second worst roster in the league? Nearly every other team is stronger than us. If they show up then we'll lose most weeks.

When do our opponents play well but we still win? Never. We rely on their errors to have a chance.

He is a brilliant attacking player. Pace and power. We have a lot of outside backs for next year and we need a winger more than a centre though, unless they keep Talau there which I am not opposed to.

Halves top priority, hopefully we move Reynolds on and get his money

I say we do a Massive 2022 signing. We will have all of Reynolds and Packer,'s money by then. And we can do it, in only a few months after whatever the cut-off date is this year. (Usually it's November 1, but this year, who knows?)

But in only five or so months, we could sign a player like Keary, Flanagan, Adam Reynolds, Nathan Brown, Ferguson, Pearce, JAC, Jesse Bromwich, Jahrome Hughes, Joel Thompson for 2022. Let's sign someone great up and work towards that to lure more players over.

May as well, because the guys we have now I don't think can do any better in our current system.
