This thread has degenerated into an analysis of the mentality and quality of the scoop posters, rather than the scoops themselves. It's a thread looking back on itself, trying to understand its history.

I've never understood why anyone cares so badly who posts a scoop, why they do it, and how they "behave" online. Add them to your Foes list if it is such a problem.

Lol and I think I probably started it all by asking the simple question, which person's scoops are we supposed to believe, since there seems to be conflicting reports? I got the best advice from the poster, who first responded to me. I wasn't expecting it turn into a character assassination thread after that! 😱pen_mouth:

A few more lower grade players like Alex Twal & Tyson Gamble types will be brought on board but not big/decent signings will happen unless a good opportunity presents its self with Salary Cap fall out. Connor Watson chose Knights purely on the base he wants to play 5/8 & they have guaranteed it.Jeremy Latimore was a big chance but that has since gone cold.

Pom, isn't there a stipulation that clubs have to spend 95% of the cap each year? Surely with the signings we have already added and these further lower grade signings you mention, we wouldn't be spending in that vicinity. If so, makes me think we have been spending too much on these new players…

90% needs to be used, not saying we completely done but nothing will really happen until cap is announced & other clubs need to cut players. Taking the wait & see approach. But there's nothing happening in the near future bar ET & Esienhuth staying put.

Can you not also invest your cap space into current salaries, and that satisfies the required threshold?

The bench is a massive concern.

Marsters, Eisenhuth and Twal will probably be 3 on the bench the way it looks.

Marsters looks pretty strong and has good footwork. I don't think he could play 80 mins in the second row next year. Certainly not week to week. However he's a good second row prospect and has done well in his few NRL games this year. Looking forward to seeing more of him.

I just had a quick look at zero tackle.
There are still plenty of forwards off contract.
Passi from the Titians would be one I'd go for. Maybe Jai Arrow from the Broncos as well.
Plenty of others as well like ; B Lawrence, Liilyman, Gubb, Hoffman,B Thompson , Vete.
In the backs James Roberts and Ferguson are still unsigned.
Roughies , Dave Taylor, Sitaleki Akauola, Pauli Pauli. Robbie Rochow

A hard running forward would do me. A vete or paasi. The addition of one of these two and I'd say we are ok for forwards. Should target a marquee second rower for 2019 though. Our starting pack will be fine when all are fit.

Depending on the Salary Cap, a few more good forwards may be on the market. If Manly are true to be over the salary cap and have to offload players; I would love to help them out (Taupau, Fonua-Blake, Lawrence Jurbo)

We have wingers in MWZ, Nofo, Fonua and Thompson also we **MAY** get Rona

I would absolutely love Vete or Paasi and perhaps Morgan Boyle

But I think Gallen is still off-contract and I think it would be worth throwing him a 3 year deal about 800k per year

i would take morgan boyle in a heartbeat after his performance against the panthers, 40 tackles, 10 runs for 108m and just needs to add on some more size to his frame. he has some good leg drive aswell.
