Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Especially the stories about old players, old games, those little nuances most people don't know.
There was one on the 101 Great players thread about Churchill, that was just gold!

Keep the tips coming SG and Yoss, much appreciated both you guys and everyone else.

People also need to remember Moga has had 3 ACL injuries already in his young career, he's effectively one knee injury away from retirement. Knights are offering more cash than other clubs were willing to risk

And were not with Matulino? Everything is a risk. Teddy has done his knee a couple times. Knights have bought ok like us. No superstars. Just players that will play for the team.

Scoops give us something to talk about. They don't always eventuate it, but I don't think the forum would be the same without them. So all the scoop posters keep them coming boys.

Exactly.

SG has said that he is obtaining information from third parties and then relaying that information back to the forum. No problem with that at all.

Just because something he says doesn't eventuate, doesn't mean it wasn't true at the time he reported it. Contract negotiations are protracted and ever-changing, you think you have a player in the bag and 5 minutes later their manager calls with a higher offer from another club … that's life.

His predictions have turned out correct on some occasions, and not correct on others. But i'd rather hear inside info from guys like SG than rely on 'The Lurker' for my weekly dose of gossip.

Totally disagree.

Name the last time sg said something that eventuated.

I would rather nothing if what their saying does not eventuate especially where it's the majority with Sg.

I can come on here and make vague predictions too with some contract figures if it is making people so happy.

If you're saying he has never provided correct info, then your plain wrong. That's not an opinion, its a fact.

And if you would rather hear nothing then don't read his posts… Don't you wish all life's problems could be solved so simply?

You could come on here and make vague predictions if you like, but you would then get annoying people saying you shouldn't have the right to post your opinion on anything... which is kinda the whole point of forums to start with.

This thread has degenerated into an analysis of the mentality and quality of the scoop posters, rather than the scoops themselves. It's a thread looking back on itself, trying to understand its history.

I've never understood why anyone cares so badly who posts a scoop, why they do it, and how they "behave" online. Add them to your Foes list if it is such a problem.

Titans announce signing of Brenton Lawrence, for a 2 year deal.

could be an indication that big morgan might be leaving, hope we can squeeze boyle into our team

Let's hope Boyle joins WTs. Also SG had some pretty good info re Packer and co. I enjoy that he or she takes the time to let us in on information.

I seem to remember Smoking Gun being on the money with the Lolohea and Packer signings. I think he mentioned that Taane Milne was coming, too. Was he the only one? Probably not but SG gave info early in the process and they all eventually signed.

I just hope he doesn't stop giving tidbits because of other posters egos.

Anyone expecting more Signings outside of ET & Esienhuth re-signing & possibly Tim Grant taking up his option will be disappointed. Boyle wants to much $$$ & will only be a possibility if he drops his price which won't happen as Titans have now upped their offer.

2018 squad so far:

Russel Packer
Josh Reynolds
Ben Matulino
Luke Brooks
Moses Suli

Tu'imoala Lolohea
Chris McQueen
Sauaso Sue
David Nofoaluma
Chris Lawrence

Mahe Fonua
Taane Milne
Josh Aloiai
Corey Thompson
Malakai Watene-Zelezniak

Matt McIlwrick
Jacob Liddle
Michael Chee Kam
JJ Felise
Tyson Gamble

Esan Marsters
Alex Twal

22.

Personally I'm hopeful we resign:
Elijah Taylor
Matt Eisenhuth

Need six more after them.
Including
Tim Grant,
Jamal Idris,
Jack Littlejohn,
Kyle Lovett,
Kev Naiqama

who I haven't heard have officially moved on but I think will (except maybe Grant)

So need 8 more (maybe $1.88m left, if on $9.14m cap) That's $234k average.

If we sign ET and Eis, maybe $1.40m left, $233k average.

(All numbers my own estimates - not official)
