I think we should make a very attractive offer to Tedesco before Roosters resign him. Something along the lines of Latrells offer, 5 years or more. The fact the Roosters are looking at Suali should raise concern of Teddys long term future. Cant hurt?

It just doesn't seem realistic. When a seasoned player has tasted plenty of success in a professional structure, I don't even think money can bring them to a team like WT until we get many more runs on the board, like ongoing finals appearances and not fluky one-offs.

He might be at the stage where he is looking for another challenge and we are certainly that.

if his family is looked after, which he has said has been his main focus, maybe he truly doesn't care where he plays and just wants to play footy...

Ok
I'm going to call this from way out of left field
Tedesco has been given a time frame to re sign with the Roosters (not the way to do it some would say)
I wouldn't be surprised if we made a big big offer to get him back to our club
On the quiet of course
We have plenty of money to spend on 2022
If we could bring Teddy home what a coup that would be
That would get the tongues wagging
So we miss Addo-Carr but sign Tedesco for 2022
I am being very optimistic but it is possible
Shoot me down at your own peril

Just a long shot but I am sure the question would be asked

I think we should all just calm down a little .. I don't expect the Tigers to sign anyone of note for the next season, what Madge is doing is trying to prepare the Tigers for a season or 2 down the track. A lot of younger talent in our lower ranks and Madge is going after the junior super stars from other clubs.

A season or two of pain using the current old stock players and younger guys coming through, and then we will see a team full of youthful players with a reasonable amount of NRL experience ready to shine for the Tigers.

What's that old saying .. "no pain .. no gain .. !!" So we just have to take the pain for a season or two and then plan will work out .. I like another old time saying in .. "pain let's you know that you are still alive .. !!" So don't worry we (the Tigers) are still alive folks .. !! ;-)

Yep right on the money. Unfortunately 2021 is going to be more of the same. I think WT know this hence looking to extend Madge a season (2022) when its much more his team without the crap (those expensive, unproductive and surplus to requirement).

It does concern me though that marquee players only look at us to raise their pay packet elsewhere. We could have the whole cap at our disposal but if players don't want in at WT, what's the use of it.

We just need one big fish. A Mitchell, a JAC, a Grant, a B.Smith, someone.
Just one and hopefully that belief in the public eyes that we're an undesirable location will change.

We have had our big fish previously but when reeling them in they break the line and go elsewhere.
Think the COE will attract more players and retain hopefully a big fish that we develop, but a good point.

I would not blink offering him the combined totals of Packer and Reynolds salaries and maybe a bit more. Why not offer to make him the first 2 million a year player in the game.

I believe that the Wests group are exactly doing that .. having a team in the competition and just going through the motions .
Just keeping financial so that there is no burden on the group .. no one will tell me there is any desire from the board to be successful the feeling of mediocrity is rife at the club ,the constant non achievement has not in any respect been addressed hence what nearly a decade of non achievement.. if an entity wants to change the culture they enact systems to achieve this . I do not blame the football department they can only work with what there given , and to that end it seems not much ! Hence why other clubs are on the up and the Tigers just make up the numbers ... someone prove me wrong .

Mate they are footing the bill exclusively now. They will want ROI.

I tend to agree with both comments and we have had a disjointed board and not much direction but this has changed over the past 2 years.

On 2nd October 2020 the Amalgamation of Wests Ashfield Leagues Club and Balmain Tigers Leagues Club was cemented. As per the Deed of Amalgamation, this changed the ownership structure of the club to effectively be 90% Wests Ashfield, 10% Balmain Tigers.

They certainly want the Club to be more competitive and i think we are still in a waiting game until the COE is completed late next year. This will also co-inside with having some salary cap money to finally spend in 2022, unless we off load prior.

All this speculation for 2021 on whom we acquire really means nothing until we can complement by having a few good signings or retaining performing players.

For now i am going ti trust in Hartigan/Madge that we don't pay overs and happily not sign anyone until everything is sorted with Harry Grant and what smith does.

If we get JAC which is doubtful now would be a bonus.

Once you learn patience your options suddenly expand.

Yep pretty much agree with your thoughts on this.
I have no problem if JAC does not sign with us. He has a very good contract in front of him and if he wants to stuff around he can go the Latrell way. For me our priorities are a established (not manufactured) fullback and a quality lock forward.
If we have to wait until 2022 so be it but let’s not waste money on wingers.

what lock were you thinking Momo on the market for 2022 ?

Sorry I didn’t reply sooner but was in transit traveling in rain between Shoal Bay and Port Macquarie.
What lock ...... well for starters Angus Crichton would do me fine .... and for me a priority signing ahead of JAC.

Did anyone catch talkin bulldogs 2SM they had Kyle Flannagan on and Hughes asked him about signings and he was like yes big signings to come next week but I dont want to announce them on the show.
Probably Burton I'd say to play 6 as he confirmed he would play 7

We can only dream of these conversations from our club...
Maybe we need to win a few wooden spoons and get the board causing havoc and then we may get a few quality signing.

We need to clear out some dead wood - Get some cap space and then sign/retain quality players.
Bulldogs really surprise me with whom they have been signing of late and the $ mentioned at some point they have to run out of cap space. Signing too many at the same time sure there are a few that won't complement.

As far as I know on recruitment ...... normally the club CEO takes guidance from the Coach and support staff and authority to sign from the Chairman and the Board.

Centre of Excellence - I know its confusing....
CEO think he should stay out of any negotiations, until final sign off as i don't think he has done a great job over seeing things prior.

I disagree. How old is he now? A history of serious knee injuries and lost that yard of pace. The Roosters not meeting his demand is a pretty good indicator of their view. For what we'd have to pay, I'd target Reece Walsh from the Broncos. Young, super quick and a great junior rep record probably with a history known to us from Keebra Park SHS.

Twice he demonstrated to us he didn't want to be here. Why not believe him! Are you content being his Plan B?

That's actually a massive signing. Almost game changing. Could see them catapult into the eight despite still having a mud squad.
