I think we should all just calm down a little .. I don't expect the Tigers to sign anyone of note for the next season, what Madge is doing is trying to prepare the Tigers for a season or 2 down the track. A lot of younger talent in our lower ranks and Madge is going after the junior super stars from other clubs.
A season or two of pain using the current old stock players and younger guys coming through, and then we will see a team full of youthful players with a reasonable amount of NRL experience ready to shine for the Tigers.
What's that old saying .. "no pain .. no gain .. !!" So we just have to take the pain for a season or two and then plan will work out .. I like another old time saying in .. "pain let's you know that you are still alive .. !!" So don't worry we (the Tigers) are still alive folks .. !! ;-)
Yep right on the money. Unfortunately 2021 is going to be more of the same. I think WT know this hence looking to extend Madge a season (2022) when its much more his team without the crap (those expensive, unproductive and surplus to requirement).
It does concern me though that marquee players only look at us to raise their pay packet elsewhere. We could have the whole cap at our disposal but if players don't want in at WT, what's the use of it.
We just need one big fish. A Mitchell, a JAC, a Grant, a B.Smith, someone.
Just one and hopefully that belief in the public eyes that we're an undesirable location will change.
We have had our big fish previously but when reeling them in they break the line and go elsewhere.
Think the COE will attract more players and retain hopefully a big fish that we develop, but a good point.
As far as I know on recruitment ...... normally the club CEO takes guidance from the Coach and support staff and authority to sign from the Chairman and the Board.
