Melbourne will win it again next year with them to

As long as it ain't Penrith I can live with that
No to Cleary the Bus driver and his little conductor
And No to Fittler "SOO"
Its almost as good as a Tigers Premiership

if smith plays on we need to throw everything at Harry
do not let this one get away

No information but based of that quote looks like he may of agreed to titans already if Cam stays on in melbourne.

Can't blame him he's from QLD prob wants to go home for family, can't exactly put this as one that got away.

Utterly absurd to think an off hand remark from a fringe first grader means anything. Titans are one club rumoured to be interested in him, along with a dozen others.

Do you think his performance tonight helped decrease interest?

it makes it real that with Harry going, we will lose so much at 9 next year, Liddle will never go close to being Harry grant and who knows with Simpkin. We have a massive void to fill

We can only dream of having of Storm's 2021 spine

Papps
Munster
Hughes
Grant

Brandon Smith will play off the bench or lock.

Even losing C Smith, Tino and Vunivalu they still look the team to beat in 2021 (if WT lost players of this calibre we would go backwards)

A season of Liddle with a full off season under his belt and it'll be Harry who? My only worry with Liddle is whether he's got his speed back. Football brain wise he offers more than Grant.

For 2021 we need a decent number 1, a fast winger/centre, and a hard running prop or back row.

Fullback must reliable under the high ball and run the ball back with purpose.
Winger/Centre must have speed to burn.
Prop/Back row hard runner with some mongrel about them.

1. Doueihi / Mbye
2. Nofoaluma / Kepaoa / Cini
3. Momirovski / Talau
4. Leilua / Hoffman / Kei
5. Kei / Bradley
6. Reynolds / Walters / Doueihi / Brooks
7. Brooks / Madden
8. Musgrove / Packer
9. Simpkins / Liddle / Walters
10. Tamou / Mikaele / Utoikamanu
11. Leilua / Garner
12. Blore / Tuilagi
13. Twal / Chee-Kam / Bradley

Without Aloiai we have 28 listed players.
I've been told this Kelma Tuilagi is a bit of go'er (6'3" 108+kgs) for the back row. But i've never seen or heard of him .. ?? Has anyone seen or got an playing opinion of him .. ??

Fellas all this Munster, Paps, etc, talk is a w#nk, and not and should not be done in public. How about we all have a look for players we can afford that are off contract and lets start that discussion.
Try this one Greg Lelisano, cut from the Titans, prior to that leading tackle busts, leading kick returns, kicks goals, leading try scores and runner up the year after 2019-2020 Parramatta, between covid and Sivo and Ferguson, couldn't get a run, right price (We can afford him). Start the conversation there.

I find comments like this his pretty weird to be honest . Paps was shopped last year BIG time , as nico Hynes and Hughes were considered above him in the pecking order . Speaking of Hughes , was supposed to be a fill in for Croft to get ready . Kept the jersey . Munster wasn’t some gun kid , and to me , he doesn’t have the natural talent of many halves out there , he much like Wally Lewis wants it more than anyone else . And Harry grant , had huge raps , but was hardly a guaranteed star . Even the storm hadn’t made thier mind up between him and smith prior to this year .
It’s all relative , there’s no reason that we can’t develop our own players into that . It’s not like they were Benji , Tedesco , ponga, people like Katoni Staggs , where you heard about them 2 years before they debuted . The storm developed them .
To me it looks like they recruit guys who walk into a room and decide I’m better than him , him , him , him etc Irrational confidence , and a will to work for it .

Seriously. I like Liddle. He is quick, a pretty big body (bigger than Grant) and he has great quick service from dummy half.

Grant though is an outright footy player like Cameron Smith.

There is no reason we can't but we have to do it.

Imo grant is not like cammy. At this stage grant generally chooses the best option in front of him. When you’re behind he wants the ball to try and do more and lift the tempo and is pure try your guts out type of player. Smith while doing these things is playing 1-2 sets ahead which makes him less on the tempo side but better for the team to shine
1 great the other is well on his way

The other advantage of Liddle is that he's strong in defence. Ironically Melbourne exposed Harry Grant last year when they targeted him and cut Wests to shreds.
The problem with most casual observers and journos is that they only look at one half of the game and ignore the more important half of stopping the opposition scoring points. Defensively Harry Grant was the worst forward on the field last night. Missed tackles, innefective tackles and poor decisions.
His technique always offers offloads for any forward that targets him and Wests suffered for it last year.

Melbourne lost Slater replace him with Paps. Replace Cronk with Munster. Replace Smith with Grant and the cheese.

We lose Tedesco years ago and still haven’t found a long term fullback

Meh... woods is still better than aloiai - fits into our prop rotation - couple of experienced heads (Sharon and Tamou) and the young bucks...... I could live with it on the right $ AND TERM

Should just sign some old Queensland forward and that way we could get a couple of experienced heads and only take up one space in the top 30.

I'm trying to understand our roster for 2021 and I haven't been all over all the news lately, so would appreciate if someone could run their eye over this list being what we currently have in place for 2021. I'm assuming Seyfarth as a re-sign and have the four joining from the development squad and I come up with 27, does that feel right?
Obviously Aloiai and others are in flux but as we stand

1 ALOIAI, Josh
2 BLORE, Shawn
3 BRADLEY, Kane
4 BROOKS, Luke
5 CHEE-KAM, Michael
6 CINI, Zac
7 DOUEHI, Adam
8 GARNER, Luke
9 KEPAOA, Asu
10 LEILUA, Joseph
11 LEILUA, Luciano
12 LIDDLE, Jacob
13 MADDEN, Jock
14 MBYE, Moses
15 MIKAELE, Thomas
16 MOMIROVSKI, Paul
17 MUSGROVE, Zane
18 NOFOALUMA, David
19 PACKER, Russell
20 REYNOLDS, Josh
21 SEYFARTH, Alex
22 SIMPKIN, Jake
23 TALAU, Tommy
24 TAMOU, James
25 TWAL, Alex
26 UTOIKAMANU, Stefano
27 WALTERS, Billy

I think that's right, WT released the 2021 squad a couple of weeks back and it listed 26 (didn't include Seyfarth).

Just rewatched the game and Grant spent most of the last 15 minutes walking. Could've lost the game with the penalty he gave away which should've been a sin bin.
Most of his problem is that he doesn't manage his energy. He follows the ball like a school kid, confusing his fellow defenders and leaving holes.
This didn't come as a surprise as it's what he did for Wests.
More than happy to have Liddle instead of him
