If Roberts and BJ are both mentally and physically fit and they think Laurie is ready to play FB in first grade I can't find a place for Mbye, and I do want him in the team.
At 180cm and 89kg I don't think we could play him on the bench in the centre/2nd row/lock role.
I would say Mbye will play the first 4 weeks at fullback even if we get Laurie. He may play so well Laurie is kept out, he may have a few shockers or get injured and the problem is solved anyway.
Madge experimented with a lot of different attacking structures last year. With Mbye at FB, he can play like a half on the left in attack and Brooks can stay more in the middle and provide control and support like Cronk, Pearce etc.

If Reynolds leaves its great having the $500k for next season but who will take it up? We have cash now to spend.
It’s great to have another roster spot but I’m more worried about not being able to spend the cash we have let alone another reported $500k

Mbye is no 14. He's a crap hooker so that rules him out.
He may start the season at fullback if we sign Laurie and decide to give him time to settle in to the NRL. Ultimately I see mbye playing a Reynolds role and be 18th man, filling in at first grade when needed
