Gebbie is a decent chance to get himself a top 30 spot and be our backup fullback I reckon

Has he made the trek down from the high country yet?

Meant to start in the new year. Surprised the club hasn’t said anything about him, some people saying he’s on a train and trial and others on a development contract

It is a train and trial contract with the club looking at him for a development contract.

No I saw it, many players think they are a different position to their best position, and playing a position throughout the juniors does not automatically make them good in that position in 1st grade.

My opinion is his best position currently is centre, I believe he will develop into a good 5/8th but he still as large areas of weakness to work on before he is a good 5/8th.

He showed some really good signs in the backend of the season, and looked comfortable at 6.

Now that Benji’s moved on I can see Adam and Luke building a balanced attack that exploits both sides of the ruck.

Miracles won’t happen straight away but I think Madge is spot on with giving this combination a crack.

We need attack through the ruck,like Cook, DCE,Munster etc.I like nippy halves like Lui from penrith.Benji just played the edges with long passes.

I do too mate, that’s why I’m a big fan of McInnes.

He’d be the perfect conduit between our front and back row.

I like the way he plays,but not for the money.I tip Simkin and Madden to be in the top side by mid year to give them that spark.

I would give him the off season, preseason and 1st crack after his suspension but that still doesn't mean he will be a success. He still has huge weaknesses as a 5/8th, but I believe he will overcome those. I'm more worried about the lack of depth below him.

Yeah I agree it doesn’t look good if he doesn’t pan out or gets injured

Our only other real options at 6 are Mbye, Walters, Madden or maybe AJ

Gross.... I know we need a winger but signing a short 30 year old slow winger to a 2-3 year deal on decent coin isn’t ideal

Very disappointed if he comes to us.I have never rated him as a footballer and he would be our slowest winger since Rankin and he cant even kick goals.

I’d rather see us build a strong junior base and give them a go when the time is right, but I also reckon a couple of quality experienced heads will make a massive difference to our club

Look we do need an extra winger, but I don’t see him coming here to play reserves which means one of our young fellas will be missing out. Only positive might be getting Laurie. Hopefully his experience can be of value because, while he’ll he solid, he’s no game breaker on the field.

Maybe the idea is use him for 2021 then use the young fellas for 2022 when they’re more ready?
