BRONCOS’ ULTIMATUM AS DRAGONS FACE HUGE CALL
The Brisbane Broncos are playing hardball in relation to St George Illawarra’s interest in bringing Andrew McCullough to the Red V for 2021 and 2022.
The Broncos remain adamant they will not chip in anything above the $150,000 they’ve already paid McCullough for the past three months.
Which leaves the Dragons well short of the $600,000 plus McCullough is on in his final season at Red Hill.
The Broncos have made it clear they won’t be offering the tough No. 9 anything beyond this year whereas new St George Illawarra coach Anthony Griffin wants McCullough as his starting hooker for this year and next year.
But the Dragons also want the Broncos to throw in.
Further complicating the scenario is the Dragons are yet to make captain Cameron McInnes an offer for next season.
The Wests Tigers have indicated the club are monitoring the McInnes situation with coach Michael Maguire a huge fan from their time together at South Sydney.
This yarn is guaranteed to continue to develop over the next week.

Yep by showing interest in Crichton and offering big dollars is certainly going spike the interest from Penriff .. maybe our offer will force the Riff to pay massive overs to keep him .. hehehehe .. cant wait to see our supporters blowing kisses to Ivan .. hahahahaha

You are so far behind the 8 ball if you don't have a quality 9 in the modern game

The 9 position does not even rate for me this coming season as I feel this position is covered 2 x quality 9’s. I have my observations about Grant and his longevity though.

I worry about Grant's longevity as well .....but he probably has learnt a lot from that bloke in 9 who was captain ....if anyone can teach him about longevity as a 9 making 40 tackles every week for 15 + seasons it is Cam Smith

Smith's longevity can be put down to the cavalcade of brilliant players Melbourne have been unable to unearth Cronk Slater Inglis to name a few and the HUGE forwards he had around him Grant's got it all in front of him brilliant break out year courtesy of WT'S he has to back that up and get past the second year Syndrome where I dont think teams will give the latitude he got in year one it will be interesting what Madge comes up with to combat him.

Plus Cammy had an extreme reluctance to run the ball to the defensive line and allow himself to be got at by defenders. Blokes that played more rugged in attack and threw themselves at the mercy of the defence aka Farah, Issac Luke etc coincidently picked up more injuries.
Playing like a cat has its advantages injury wise it seems.

Like in the last origin series he played when everyone was writing him off and at the first play the ball he ran 30 metres from dummy half and made every NSW forward look like an imbecile. Just like you're looking like an imbecile for denigrating the best hooker that ever played the game.

Best hooker that ever played the game? Haha, I doubt he's ever struck for a ball in a scrum his whole career. Strictly a dummy half he is. A hooker is Ian Walsh, Noel Kelly, Elias, Fenech, Walters etc etc.

RIFTS REMAIN FROM CLUB'S FIERY PRESO NIGHT
One NRL club has some major healing to do before the start of the comp, after a fiery end-of-season presentation night a couple of months back.

Things got heated between both coaching staff and players as the beers flowed after a frustrating season on and off the field.

It's been anything but smooth sailing in the months since and some rifts remain unresolved.

Unless the 'vibe' improves in coming weeks, the club could face a long season.

Well, this is a good thing I suppose...an indication of the man we signed. Staying at Penriff this season will cost young Laurie $200,000,, the difference between a development contract and a top 30 with the Tiges. He's prepared to cop it because that's the contract he signed. His family back him. What a man! I'm sticking to my guns that he'll be with us by next week because of the noise around Chrichton, Burton, even offers for Edwards and it's more about keeping the family happy.
