If Brooks doesn't improve, Tanah Boyd is the first guy we should target. Seems like he won't be in the starting team in the GC and is young and very talented.

Yeah i reckon Tanah Boyd lacks that yard of pace to make it as an NRL player ...Fogarty and Fotuaki ...hell yeah

Fogarty is good too would take him

Yeah he looks like he brings the best out of Ash Taylor, but he's no better than Brooks, the bloke is nearing 30 and only just made his grade debut this year. I've seen some jurnos rank him as high as the 6th or 7th best half in the game, absolutely ludicrous. Watching Big Papali chase him down over 50m doesn't exactly fill you with confidence.
I believe he will struggle this year and Boyd will get opportunities mid season.

Ash Taylor is terrible. Not sure why people think he's good again after last season, he still looked pretty average to me

Titan's over paid for sure, and they are stuck with him for a while still, hence why I think they need to keep Fogarty in the team.

Surprised they're not using Boyd over Taylor to be honest.

I've obviously missed every good game Boyd has played ......

Might be a dumb question but why aren't we making a play to bring Corey Thompson back as cover? Not looking like he's gonna get a starting wing spot or outpace Brimson to the fullback spot. Would solve a few problems for us if we could manoeuvre him back.

He is a really small physically at the moment, looked like he's got a bit of spark in attack, but got thrown around a bit in defence. Not his fault just needs time to build his stature, Titans would be hesitant to throw him to the wolves after their previous experiences with Rankin, Kane Elgy and Ash Taylor. That franchise excels at ruining talent, not just in the halves either.

He left to move back home to QLD, he's in the twilight of his career, we need cover for FB, but I imagine the club has a couple other irons in the fire. Not a dumb question though.

Me too, probably because he hasn't had one. Handy yes but hardly an upgrade.

Vividly remember Joey Johns repeatedly stating "Ash Taylor will be the best player in the game in a few years". That was 3 or 4 years ago but still......
Good call Joey!

If Hastings has sorted his issues,he wld be a wondeful backup for 5,7 and 9 where we have zero experienced back up...
And if so,he may well leapfrog one of our halves into a starting spot
But we donr want him if hes still a dhead

I thought A Taylor had a pretty good season last year. No doubt on ridiculous money but featured in their good form last year. They will be an even better team this year so I will reserve judgement before crucifying him.

I thought so too, he got better as the year went on.

Only because his team got better. Individually didn't think he stood out and if they struggle he will go missing again. He's always good for some nice try assists though it's his game management and decisions at the big moments that ruin him

I thought he was quite solid and did some nice things. If he stays well mentally I think he’ll have a strong season.

Hastings has definitely matured over the last two years, his talent would be an asset to any NRL club.

I was impressed with his interview on Denan’s Bloke in the Bar pod.

Criticising Ash Taylor meanwhile Luke Brooks needs to massively step up for us to take the next step

Only in tiger town err. . .

They're both the same, solid at time but nothing special and not a halfback that takes a team into finals

Bold prediction

Titans and tigers both make top8 this year

Not sure if this is a rehash if an old article, but Hastings on the radar for 2022 according to Mole. Assume it’s his way of admitting he got it wrong perhaps?

TIGERS KEEPING TABS ON HASTINGS
There has been a strong rumour doing the rounds for the past week that talented halfback Jackson Hastings is poised to join the Wests Tigers.
Hastings has been the star No.7 in England over the past couple of seasons and has been back in Oz during the holiday period.
Throw in that the Tigers have lost two veteran playmakers in Benji Marshall and Josh Reynolds - and question marks remaining over Luke Brooks - and it seems a perfect fit.
But I've done some digging and it seems that Hastings is set to see out the second year of his contract with Super League club Wigan.
After that, however, the classy halfback is likely to be ready to come home - and don't be surprised if the Tigers are first in line for his services.

Rothfield reporting McInnes has signed with the Sharks.

If true, damn. Would have loved him
