And maybe our former “capitano” if the trade is worthwhile.

My priority is 5/8 and Lock. I’d take Hastings for Walters (it’s a no brainer for me).
If pushed Packer and Mbye I can do with for another season.
Cini just doesn’t do it for me but you never know I might be in for a surprise.

I imagine Cini, Walters, **Chee Kam, Packer and maybe Seyfarth** will all be gone by or at seasons end.

Unless they play the house down?

I said in the other thread I am concerned.

We have 4 outside backs (not counting Mbye & Doueihi) that have played more than 5 first grade games. Young players need some experience around them and we are a couple of injuries away from throwing kids to wolves.

The negotiations are questionable, we started off offering Cini & ended up giving up Momo. I know which I would rather on my roster, even if only for depth purposes.

Nothing wrong with throwing young kids in on the wing. It's young forwards and spine players that normally take time to adjust, playing on the wing is easy.

Easy? Tell that to Hoffman. Poor kid would still be waking up in a cold sweat.

Even still he didn't do much wrong. Mbye kept flying up and Hoffman has no choice but to follow him. Still managed to do his job and grab a try. As long as they know the defensive system they'll be fine

Yep, definitely wasn't all Hoffman's fault: he got badly let down by Mbye. Not an easy debut, it would've scarred him a bit, especially getting dropped after that game and not seeing firsts for the rest of the year.

The fact he was even playing showed how many injuries we had to wingers at that point he was still two years away from being in the top 30 when he debuted.

We should get that guy who was kicking at 83% for Melbourne last year, Is HE available?

Doiehie,Mbye,Madden,Brooks all been given extensive kicking training this year by a specialist.This must lead to some improvement surely.

Maybe it results in "some" improvement but is it enough for a first grade side to break into the top 8? I don't think so.

Not sure where all the concerns about Momo and his great goal kicking are coming from.

AD is a far better goalkicker than Momo.

I would be very happy if we could move all 4

We need to keep packer now. As if we sign someone , for this year his cap room is taken for next year as anyone who signs is not going to want a 1 year deal , not would we . Where as his 750k can be evaluated for next year to do multiple things , like after this year if someone becomes a star, we can allocate that money to them and extend thier contract , as in 2023 I think all our best players come off contract .

Yeah I agree but I’m not sure how long they can sustain this with Ivan as head coach surley he’s going to pull some shocking recruitment decisions

A lot will depend if any of these young guys will play for less to keep the band together. Or if they go into the brown paper bag business.

Surely there is a Gareth Ellis/John Bateman type looking to escape COVID ravaged England. Hope we are doing some scouting over there.

I don't think we will fill the remaining g slots externally, unless a bargain comes out of left field.

Doueihi kicked at 66.67% last season but really only full-time for the last 4 games where he went 5/6, 4/4, 3/4, 2/6 which was good for 70% on a smallish sample size. Mbye kicked 29/45 or 64.44% on an obviously larger and more representative sample size. With some off-season work with Halligan you would imagine something around the 75% or better isn't unreasonable to expect from Douehi? Using the eye test he hits them pretty well. In short, there's reasonable hope he can be a good, hopefully one day very good first grade goal kicker.
