It appears many think we need a mobile ball playing lock.Has anyone have an opinion on how Blore,CheeKam,or even Garner would go in this role?Taking into account these guys appeared to have built up,and we have better training and coaching staff this year

I doubt any of them would be a success in such an important position.Blore is an edge as is Garner MCK is a reggie

Chee Kam is too small. If Blore or Garner play lock, we are pretty short on secondrowers.

People have got to remember the defensive aspect of the game too. Tamou and Twal are probably the most effective tacklers in the club, i'm sure there are stats to prove it, i just can't be bothered digging it up. I think it's important we have both on the field for large periods of the game if possible. Both are crucial to holding our middle defense.

Chee Kam is too small. If Blore or Garner play lock, we are pretty short on secondrowers.

Im pretty sure that all this offseason Madge has had someone already training and practising in the lock position...he may have some variants,but I reckon he already has it covered,its an important position especially with the new rule changes and he wouldnt wait until the season starts to find out who would fill the role....

I agree with you, but it wont be one of the few secondrowers we have. For mine Joe O or Twal and Im ok with that.

I doubt Blore is a lateral defensive player given his bung knee. So no lock there. But running an angle line on the edge he will be deadly.

IMO McInnes is too small for lock as well. In retrospect, MCK is probably big enough, just not good enough.

Yeah MCK will probably never be anything other than a bench utility at best. I think he works well at the back end of games, with his foot work against tiring defense. But he doesn't make my 17 on a regular basis.

None of those but had you have said Luciano Leilua I’d be for it ..also keeps him away from his bone head brother in defence...

Curtis Rona is currently playing Union for Northampshire in the English Rugby ...he was getting interviewed on BBC Radio in the Half Time break of a West Ham game lol

Those numbers aren't always accurate but MCK is a pretty big dude. Certainly could play lock given his size however he's too poor a defender to be considered there
