Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Pascoe on Ask The Boss announcing that Gebbies visa has been approved (its a pretty crazy story of how the process of signing him has worked) and also said they'll announce player #28 today which seems to be Amone

An official announcement can't be far away.

I thought TomM looked good yesterday admittedly against a beaten pack. Some self belief will do the blokes that have been here a few seasons wonders. I expect him to have a good season. Even Packer yesterday looked energetic and enthusiastic. Fingers crossed for a good start.

similar to a lot of young forwards, once he is aware of how big he is and the damage he can do with his frame, he will improve immensely as a player. there is genuine depth in the forwards now, and he'll have to work hard to retain his spot. hopefully it brings the best out of him.

You also need to know how to run lines. Took Tuilagi 6 mins to work out what Mikaele can’t do. Hit a flaming hole.

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of forward Tom Amone, effective immediately, for the 2021 NRL season.

An Australian Schoolboy and Junior Kiwis representative player, who has already proven himself at the NRL level, the 24-year-old Amone will add further talent and depth to the Wests Tigers engine room following his immediate arrival to the club.

Wests Tigers Coach Michael Maguire welcomed Amone’s arrival to Wests Tigers. “Tom has shown he has what it takes to make it at the NRL level so we’re very pleased to have secured his services for the season ahead,” Maguire said. “Having overcome some adversity, Tom has worked hard to be ready for the season ahead and I’m looking forward to him adding further to our forward pack this year.”

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe congratulated Amone on his new deal.
“On behalf of all at Wests Tigers, I’d like to welcome Tom to Wests Tigers,” Pascoe said.

“Tom’s experience and capabilities at the NRL level make him an excellent addition to our squad at this point of the year and we’re delighted to welcome him on board.

“Tom has shown an enthusiasm and desire to contribute at this club right away and we’re looking forward to watching him do that in the year ahead.”

Amone will link up with the club immediately and begin training with the squad this week ahead of Wests Tigers’ season opener against the Canberra Raiders on March 14.

One is an edge backrower and the other is a prop. Could that be part of the difference?

Yep seems like Mikaele is copping a bit of a bashing here , and these are supposed supporters of our team , about time we stopped bagging our own and get behind the team

Mikaele really had an ordinary year though. Hopefully he bounces back from it because he's a very effective forward when he is at his best. His handling was poor at the start too.

When a player Plodd's or Nuff's then they shall rightfully be called out.
It's the law of the land...

The transfer for Walters has gone a bit quiet too. I wonder if it was dependant on getting an early release for hastings

Beoncos are quite happy to let him rehab here at the Tigers.

Kevvie said as much in an interview earlier in the off season.

If.the trials have shown us anything we dont need Hastings
