Ikin only cares about the glamour clubs. give him 2 years and he'll be kissing our feet. as for Ennis, never rated him as a pundit.

I thought that Ikin was going to leave Fox to become the new CEO of the Broncos.

didn't happen, the former Storm CEO got the jump on him.

Wouldn’t have been because of Ikin’s lack of intelligence.

I’m watching the NRL 360 opener and the grubs think Tigers will be bottom 4 this year.

Ben Ikin bagged us out completely and says crap like “they don’t know who’s playing in what position, the 6 and 7 is undecided”

Jesus.. he doesn’t know crap.

I prefer that people underestimate this side.
I’ve seen too many sides hyped up at beginning of the season which ended with them a resounding failures.
South’s are in that boat now.
I think their back line is good but few injuries and their squad will be tested to produce consistently.

PNG fullback Edene Gebbie has joined Wests Tigers on a train-and-trial contract after having his visa application approved.⁣

The 25-year-old will join the club for training at the conclusion of his mandatory quarantine period.

For me I’d love to see Siro back, no to Magoulis.

Younger Siro is locked away

Older Siro, His best years are behind him. Im over recruiting this type of player based on the pain.

Younger Siro is a nuffie IMO.

(second) oldest Siro IMO had his best season last year and looked good in a spanked team on Sunday. I reckon there are a couple of good years left in him. Would have him over Garner.

I saw him interviewed a few weeks ago, i think he has a high opinion of himself, i prefer Garner.

It doesn't really matter what the journos think. If we start consistently winning, they will shut up and start talking us up as if they knew we were a chance all along. Talks cheap these days. Ikin is so deluded that he probably thinks the broncos will make the GF this year

Ikin thinks he’s a journo but in reality he’s a biased flogger who has wet dreams about “Kenty”

I think they didn't want a Bennett stooge in a position of influence.

So much has changed in just a few months. Looking at the players off contract for 2022, and i can't see many that would improve our squad. Players like Jake Friend would have got our keen interest, as well as many others, but we have such a strong forward pack now ,i don't see a vacancy. Our backs have some doubts about them, time will tell, and we have some quality in CC. Who do the forum members think is worth chasing that will be off contract ?

After watching pretty closely on Sunday I’m convinced we should spend big on the right side second rower and the left winger. Finucane and Sivo would propel us into premiership calculations.

TBH, don't know much about Finucane, but would love to have Sivo here.

But I don't think the club is that interested in paying overs for anyone?

Or for anyone that holds their neck after every tackle trying to milk a crusher penalty.

The Roosters half Volkham was sensational in the first trial. Looks like Keary, Williams and Lam are ahead of him. They can't keep them all.

TIGERS prove the knuckleheads wrong so we can stick it up them come September.

Can't wait for the crap that Benchi is going to pay us out with on NRL360.

Fortunately, I don't have Fox and won't have to be subjected to it first hand.

Mikaele is a young forward who has been thrown to the wolves. Most if not all young props begin their careers off the bench and play a small amount of minutes. Due to our poor pack in recent years Mikaele has been the main man the Tigers have looked at to make metres. No senior forwards leading the way at all in recent years. He will be a completely different player with big senior forwards around him

Well he better, because he's going to be quickly overtaken otherwise.

All our middle forwards are going to be under pressure. Stef, Mikaele, Tuki Simpkins and Musgrove can all have an impact. Twal, Joe O and Tamou are good but more workers.

I'd play Tuki Simpkins off the bench and at lock. I reckon he looks heaps better than Twal at lock. I suppose you play both of them for the moment.

Someone is missing out. I reckon Mikaele deserves a bench spot based on his trial form.

Tuki has an X factor about him.

Don’t know what it is but you can just tell this guy knows how to throw his weight around - and I love it!

I think what he has is big core strength, combined with his height / long arms. Especially the try that resulted from his flick offload - that was right in front of us and he went heavily into the carry, but still got his arms free in the tackle. IIRC he took 3 tacklers with him. He seems to be able to give the ball space despite being tackled.

Now considering he's still a big lumpy kid, it's impressive to have that ability to free himself in tackles. I'm contrasting this to other young guys like Stefano or Tuilagi who are very powerful but are looking for heavy contact to pump legs and fall on their front.

I don't want to go overboard because he's still fresh, but very impressive in the trials. I remember seeing Aaron Woods play his first Foundation Cup and you just knew he had special talent.

What's actually surprising to me is that Tuki is not still pursuing rugby. He's got a real rugby forward build and a sort of hunched loping running style. He looked ready to contest a ruck every tackle.

Very John Eales type physique and mobility now I think about it.

Have to agree Tuki is more than a bash and barge forward , the offload is the money ball while attracting multiple defends ..it takes lot to get me interested in a forward but this fella certainly has !

Reminds me of a young sonny bill.
We have to be careful with this one, with regards to his development.
I'd dare say the roosters will be calling in a few years.
I reckon he's earned the starting lock spot

Two games against reserve grade quality opposition, yes he looks good and fingers crossed he will be a very good player but a young Sonny Bill might be a big call.

I think that was the starting Manly pack minus Jake T.

NRL360 is literally the Daily Telerag in TV format. You couldn't pay me to watch it.

I tried watching the season opener and Braith Anasta was struggling to complete his very first sentence. Fox NRL have gone so far downhill. It's like they are intentionally tanking the value of the game. I guess now that they have signed up so much of 9's viewership and have no more room for growth they don't care anymore.

100%

Trouble is our supporters can't tell the difference and just hate anyone with an ego.

Pretty much every top class player in the league has ego.

Other clubs have Luke Brooks types.

Tigers reckon PNG prospect Gebbie worth the wait

NRL clubs often go to great lengths to recruit players, but based on the extraordinary time and effort put in by the Tigers to sign Edene Gebbie, there must be something special about the Papuan. Looking forward to eventually seeing this bloke
