Tyson gamble makes Luke brooks look ordinary.

Yep. We kept the wrong bloke that's for sure

So frustrating. Gamble actually talks

Lack of talk is a real issue it was real evident live at the game last week looked like cats not tigers. No talk in halves or forwards

Gamble was the real difference last night. Kicks that put the defence under pressure, competing for the ball and straightening the attack in a simply awful team he made them look competent. Swap brooks for gamble? I'd have him back In a heartbeat

Just some retention updates:

Jacon Liddle, Tom Amone & Zac Cini have 1 year deals now on the table for 2022. Liddle's management want 2 & wouldn't surprise me if they add the extra year, Bulldogs keen on Liddle also but he seems to be a back up if they can't land a big fish like Smith or Daryl Clark.

Early days but a 2 year deal being discussed for Thomas Mikaele, Panthers & Raiders also interested.

Chee Kam won't be retained, at least not top 30.

Club in no rush with Seyfarth.

Russell Packer well................we all know where that's going.

Thanks @THE_POM,
Its a shame Tom Amore is not for 2 years as I think he will be a great player if he can just be given a chance in top grade.. Any chance of Mbye moving on still?

Amone needs to put in then he gets the extras ,no more 4yr deals like Nofo the tanker !

He came back from a Knee injury and play like 5 games and absolutely killing it and averages like 160m a game.. Not a 4 year deal but 2 would be better for me.

In Reggie's .

He was also going well in 1st grade with souths last year before injury.. Just needs to get a go and he will stay in the top grade.

I like Amone's work rate for sure. But the metres will be a lot harder to earn against NRL packs, would like to see him have a bit more impact in ressies tbh but also interested to see if he can just step it up with an NRL opportunity, if so a 2yr would be appropriate!

Mikale smashed him in meters last week.

Yes he did! What we really need is a prop with Amone's workrate and Mikaele's impact.

Maybe Mikaele could just pull his finger

I keep waiting and hoping... he teases with the glimpses of rip and bust that he shows.

He'll no doubt improve if he joins his former coach at the Panthers.

Amone doesn't have a big work rate. Not sure where that ideas comes from. He just runs hard.
Mikaele has been one of our best props this season. Denting the line with each run. Probably only been behind Stefano this season. Agility in defence his issue, like most big guys

Just judging him on his efforts last week... I haven't seen stats but he looked to have plenty of carries.

Who would have picked that though a few years ago . He was not a stabilising force in any team . I’m really glad he has progressed , and developed .

I don't know James Roberts, or where he is at, but I'm a bit worried about this. These sorts of dramatic, self-abnegating gestures sometimes speak to deteriorating mental health. Not scaremongering - probably just footballers with time on their hands - but it doesn't strike me as good.

Amateur psychology here at best. He got his hair cut; as most of us do when it grows yet to call this act self-abnegating is the larger issue here: many people need regular haircuts FOR their own mental and physical wellbeing

Oops.

It is an interesting article to read. Ivan's interest in how a junior coach was coaching his under 12s to play touched me as he clearly had an interest in the kids welfare. It was nice to read.

A positive comment about Ivan? Not allowed on here my friend

If you haven’t already noticed Paws has an affinity for Mild Mannered, new world coaches like Ivan and very much unlike Madge and Bellamy.

Tbh personally had no real issues with how he coached, and especially liked how he worked our youngest players at that time - i.e. Marsters, Suli - but I think it's where his forte lies and we need that Bellamy type.
Think Sheens was quite similar in his approach with preparing them for the NRL, in that they know it's all just a game of opportunity.

Even bellemy has is allowing more attacking footy. It our attack has to be less predictable

I honestly don't know enough to talk tactics but can see why he commands more attention to our defensive structures.
Sorry my post was more aimed at how it looks Bellamy has developed such a winning culture and while the longevity of our (very short) success isn't the same it was through the same type of attitude, we ultimately created our own luck.
Every player in that 2005 team and until Sheens left looked to take advantage of or seize all opportunities given to them. Our downfall was obviously our poor discipline and leadership, as otherwise we've had teams of talented and ambitious players that never all reached their full potential.
This is why I'm a huge fan of Madge's vision in building long-term success for the club. The current results with our junior pathways program is one to be proud of, especially when it's been so successful in the past and has been restored in strength/quality almost immediately.

Staggs refusing to re-sign with Broncos until they sign a major half, rules us right out of the equation

I think that is an issue with every struggling team trying to sign a star equivalent player. In most cases its not really $$$ but I do think its a large part they've already done the hard yards in their minds, they dont want to carry a team nor be the hope of a struggling team. They want to fit into a already well functioning outfit where they are part of a team that can have success without too much extra effort.

WT have a valid story to tell potential recruits but to thee type of players LM, Staggs, the Morris lads etc we are too much effort. Its not the $$$.

Interesting. I found Laurens post easy to understand and well expressed.

For what its worth, your post is missing a question mark and a period and has a superfluous colon and yet I was able to parse what you are trying to say despite your lack of grammatical accuracy and ability. Your lack of grammar *barely* made me cringe at all, but I cringed *hard* at your sense of entitlement. Regardless I dont think you should stop posting, you are entitled to your opinion regardless of how poorly and rudely you express it.

For the record Madge is doing a great job with the junior pathways and recruiting elite prospects .His issue , rather more the Tigers issue , is recruiting players above the age of 21 who have a negative opinion on the club based on years of ineptitude. Young kids won’t have that , as they have no history with or around the club.
It’s with this in mind that I think Loz has the right idea . It just means we might suck for a while the kids grow together . I hope not , but it’s not looking good .

Stop pls it’s so cringe

For the record Madge is doing a great job with the junior pathways and recruiting elite prospects .His issue , rather more the Tigers issue , is recruiting players above the age of 21 who have a negative opinion on the club based on years of ineptitude. Young kids won’t have that , as they have no history with or around the club.
It’s with this in mind that I think Loz has the right idea . It just means we might suck for a while the kids grow together . I hope not , but it’s not looking good .

And I think this has been what most supporters have wanted for a long time. Building up a strong foundation to become premiership contenders. And it has to start at junior level

Thanks @Tiger5150 and @pawsandclaws1 guess I can't help but see a little red from Ivan's mention ?

Mate Lauren is entitled to her opinion, particularly when she expresses it so clearly.

Am I typing clearly enough for you: **I did not find that thing she posted easy to read at all**

Maybe if you had expressed it as clearly as that bolded above instead of **"Stop pls it’s so cringe"** earlier, we all may have better understood your intent?

Tyson gamble makes Luke brooks look ordinary.

Yep. We kept the wrong bloke that's for sure

So frustrating. Gamble actually talks

Lack of talk is a real issue it was real evident live at the game last week looked like cats not tigers. No talk in halves or forwards

Gamble was the real difference last night. Kicks that put the defence under pressure, competing for the ball and straightening the attack in a simply awful team he made them look competent. Swap brooks for gamble? I'd have him back In a heartbeat

I remember him playing ,and he was ordinary. He played well last night, but don't get carried away.

Who would have picked that though a few years ago . He was not a stabilising force in any team . I’m really glad he has progressed , and developed .

He’s played one good game.

So did Luke Brooks in 2013.

I'm somewhere in between, but was disappointed that Tyson didn't get another look in after I think going out against a rampant Canberra first up?

Is Maguire in charge of the junior coaches?
I was always under the impression his role was based around the NRL Team
