Flanagan would be no better than Brooks behind our pack. We should only be looking at players who are "competitors", winners who hate to lose and play at 110% every week.
In my view we should be throwing the house at Brandon Smith, Finucane, Nathan Brown or Sua, a genuine winger and a centre. These sort of guys will lead the way and lift our up and coming young blokes with them.

We lack the clutch, hard edge back rower that pretty much all the good teams have. Same goes for the prop position.

Its our biggest issue imo.

We need a Wade Graham, Cameron Murray, Isaah Yeo, James Fisher Harris, Jason Taumalolo, Tyson Frizzell, Jared Waerea Haregreaves, Boyd Cordner Jesse Bromwhich, Dale Finucane, or Jake Trbojevic type of player.

these guys set the culture, they set the standards and they lead the way.

Our closest is Joe Ofahengaue. He is a B grade version but does lead the way.

Recruitment priority should be to strengthen this area of our squad with guys who can lead us going forward.

Is cordner off contract?
I do wonder whether we could temp him to come across and lead a young side.
Rooster may be more keen on keeping Chrichton as there is more longevity there.
But a fit cordner for a couple of seasons is something I wouldn’t think is possible therefore I didn’t even consider it.

Cordner is one head knock away from retirement.

Yep, not worth it. He’ll be retired by 30

Hynes would be an instant Nuffie here. Wouldn't have the benefit of Paps, Munster, Hughes, Smith & Grant distracting the defense enough for him to make a couple good plays per game.

Easy to contain the playmakers when the rest of the team aren't a threat...

I agree. Same as Brodie Croft. He looked like a million bucks at the Storm, and I’m sure the Broncos thought they had won the lottery when they snared him. Turned out to be a lemon.

If the sharks and broncos are having a 'bidding war' for Adam Reynolds why are we not involved like seriously.

I guess we have put all our eggs in the Jackson Hastings basket.

I reckon we probably have enquired with a number of high profile players in the past and been met with a very early 'not interested, I'm here to win a premiership' type response.

Cordner cant even get on the field for the rorters and is probably only 1 or 2 HIAs from being forced to retire and in his case it would be genuine unlike Flog Burgess

I think Joffa is going great and LL is up to scratch. Let’s see how Tuki, Tuilagi and Blore shape up.

Luciano Leilua is not clutch. Not even close.

I thought the rumour was Reynolds was off madge by the end of the south’s run ?

He could only help this rabble of a senior playing group.

That said id rather try and identify the next three or four guys who are capable of being this type of player and recruiting them.

Nat Butcher would be where i start, hell of a young player.

Go for the value.

Yeah great call. Would cost us upwards of 400k I’d say but can play any role in the forward pack and we’ll. Probably a younger Finucane.

Thats the smart direction. No use paying players for what they did at other clubs ie Tamou

Do you think? There’s been no talk of Jake Friend having a medical retirement.
