What an underwhelming experience that will be coming from Brisbane.....
Pascoe: "See past the demountables over there.....you have to use your imagination, however in the next 12 months, that will be the 'Benji Marshall' weights room......we also recently started providing Gatorade and Gaffa tape to players which you will find in the new utilities cupboard. We've named that the 'Braith Anasta' Storeroom.
Now which one of our 6 home grounds would you like to visit first?"

He was supposed to be visiting the Tigers & Dragons, although the Dragons no longer have money since De Belin ( not everyone at the Dragons are happy about his return) has returned as their priority is Hynes. Joey Manu wants to play fullback & has been given permission to explore his options, he has been having preliminary talks for nearly 2 months

If Joey manu has been given permission to speak with rival clubs then we need to be throwing MASS money at him!! If he wants that fullback spot then DL must shift to 5/8!! Joey manu can do anything and everything he’s an absolute freak! The odds of him coming to tigers are about as high as me becoming dictator of South Korea but no harm in throwing him whatever he asks and more!

Manu wants to play FB - end of story.

We have a FB for the next 10 years - so say many on the Forum.

That's the story spun on Hynes anyway.

Sheensians philosophy prevails on this forum!
Why would we desperately need another FB (also expensive), when we need centres and wingers ?

Maybe manu is trying the JAC approach saying he wants to play fullback to get fullback money!! U say we need centre’s offer him fullback money and the chance to fight it out for a fullback spot and see how u go!! A player like manu is what all clubs need and would be exactly what tigers need to attract more stars or even hang onto the ones we already have/coming through the ranks!! I highly doubt we would get him but if there’s ever a chance for someone like him u have to throw money at them IMO

Gee I think Joey Manu would be a great signing for our club. He would put some real starch into our backline not to mention some quality attack. Happy for him to play 6 3 4 or 1.
Throw in the Pommy centre and Hastings with what we already have and we would have a quality backline

Was at a sporties night in Canberra once where Ricky was one of the speakers. Someone asked him why a horse he had was called Gom Jabber. Channelling his inner De Bellin, Ricky told the crowd that Gom was short for Go On Mate. This was about the time he used to hang out in night clubs with his Rugby mates and spit on other punters. If you turned around or said anything you got a prop forward in your face.

OFF-TAP COACH'S STUNNING SHED BLOW-UP

An angry coach who is already off with much of his squad lost a few more friends among the players after a stunning recent incident in the sheds.

At a mid-week rehab session, a player was getting a massage and as he was doing so, was quietly watching a horse race on his phone.

The coach was walking past at the time and flew into a rage, grabbing the phone off the shocked player and flinging it across the room.

Coaches are under massive pressure - I get that - and this bloke hasn't been winning… but that sort of over-the-top behaviour won't do anything to make an unhappy camp whole again.

I wonder who it was?

Where's this from? It does sound like it could be a Madge moment.

Madge isn't off with many of the players.

Pretty obviously Sticky

Yep stark obvious that

Madge would never do such a Buffon act...if it is sticky it just adds to my distaste for him

I can imagine bellyache doing that ??

Newcastle coach is a bit of a nutcase too.

Wasn’t he the coach who shirt fronted someone at the races because said someone didn’t know who he was?

Does sound like a tool.

I think we need to do a multi-prong raid like the Eels, Titans and other clubs have done in the past, you won’t get a superstar to come play for WT on their own as there is little hope of winning with this squad when you’re expected to carry it. Come up with our version of Pay/Dymock/Smith raid in the 1990’s and we’ll be in business. Wouldn’t mind seeing us go hard after Crichton/Manu/ikuvalu or something like that.

Good news on both fronts.

The two-year deal will see Liddle remain in Wests Tigers colours until at least the end of the 2023 NRL season.

A Wyong Roos junior, Liddle joined Wests Tigers in 2015 after earning selection in the New South Wales junior Origin and Australian Schoolboys sides. He would quickly make his first grade debut the following year, before permanently moving into the full-time squad for the 2017 season — playing 13 games and winning the club’s Rookie of the Year Award.

The talented rake has overcome several injuries throughout his career — including a serious knee injury in 2019 that sidelined him for part of the 2020 season also — but has since made a strong return and featured prominently for the club this year.

Liddle surpassed 50 NRL games earlier this year in his side’s win over Newcastle, and said he was very pleased to continue his playing career at Wests Tigers.

“I’m really excited to be able to stay on with the club,” Liddle enthused.

“It’s been a bit of an up-and-down ride for myself personally, but I’ve loved being at Wests Tigers and really feel a part of what we’re building here.

“I’m determined now to make sure I continue to deliver my best footy each and every week and help bring success to the club, its Members and its fans.”

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe congratulated Liddle on his new deal with the club.

“On behalf of all at Wests Tigers, I’d like to say how pleased we are to see Jacob extend his playing future with the club,” Pascoe said.

“Not only is Jacob a clearly talented footballer but he is an exceptional young man away from the field who genuinely lives out the values of what we want to be known for as a club.

“Jacob has a great attitude towards his football and the club and is determined to deliver success to Wests Tigers. He is a fantastic ambassador for what we are building here and we’re all looking forward to watching him develop further in a Wests Tigers jersey.”

Russell just dislocated his hip doing a cartwheel ?

There'll be a couple of cheeky bottles of bubbly popped at Chateau Russell tonight I think.

And the big lad Kelma Tuilagi!

In addition to Liddle’s two-year deal, Wests Tigers are also pleased to confirm that Development Player Kelma Tuilagi will move into the NRL squad for the start of the 2022 campaign on a one-year deal. A Glenora Bears junior, Tuilagi featured for the Junior Kiwis in 2018 while part of the Melbourne Storm system and has featured prominently for the club’s Knock-On Effect NSW Cup side, Western Suburbs Magpies, throughout the year so far.

“Kelma has settled really well into Wests Tigers and has certainly grown a lot already in his time with the club,” Maguire said.

“Being in the full-time NRL squad next season will only benefit his development and we’re looking forward to watching that progress in the years to come.”
