Happy with Joffa and Seyfarth the last few weeks, but still think if we got Finucane he would help teach the squad how to compete every set in defence. Absolute maniac.

Not a podcast, but listen to what Bellamy says about him in the in the post game press conference after the Titans game.

Seyfarth appears to be our next lock. We don't need Finucane and from what we know about Seyfarth, he sets very high standards for his own training which I'm sure other players will note. In amongst the disaster yesterday that was our NSW Cup team, young Daniel Sykes came on and started to hit very hard in defence. You could see he has the drive and competitive spirit Gould often refers to in commentary. Why block our good young players with senior players at the backend of their careers?

Did Roosters need Cronk at the back end of his career when they had Pearce?

Ask the Roosters. We don't need Finucane. Let him get his retirement payday elsewhere. Those days should be over at WTs.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about. His valued at the Storm and his potential replacement in the cheese is looking to move on. So I’d say his a lock to resign for a couple of years with the Storm on about 500k a season.

So he’s good enough for Bellamy but not for us ?

The only concern is his age ..Finucane is NRL quality you would be mad if you weren't looking at him..by age I mean the amount of cash required compared to what we have in the position...Ofahengaue and especially Seyfarth are performing above their pay grade..there are other areas of the roster that needs the cash more..

I think both Seyfarth and Joffa can be bench players next year, pick up Finucane and another hard man like Sua and we are starting to challenge the top sides. The professionalism a Finucane brings would rub off on a guy like Luciano, who is looking overweight and gets found out in the NRL. If we want to be great we need to aim higher.

I’d take him to but opposition sides would still find chinks in our edges because our forwards have a soft underbelly

No there is a player in the under 6s who looks like he is going to be really good and we don’t want to block his development

This is the type of signing we should consider at top dollar.

That’s an interesting aspect, playing above their pay grade. I don’t know what players are being paid but who else do you think is playing above their pay grade? Garner lately? Twal? Even Douehi?

Does the words boo hoo mean anything

Poor Penrith are going to be in salary cap strife because 7 players got picked in SOO and triggered salary bonuses

LOL so hard

I know penrith only scored one try so it’s not a good match to refer to but luciano’s movement during the Burton try is the exact problem we need to address. You can’t have centre’s and wingers covering for your back rower.

That is not the issue. We don't need him and he would block the development and progression of our young players.. The cap is finite and we have positions of greater need to fill as well as a host of good young talent to sign long term.

I can’t cop the block the development argument, the chances of us having multiple players of his ability coming through are slim. If they do outplay him then all well and good , he’d be a handy bench forward behind what would be ‘origin quality’ forwards who superseded him.

Seyfarth is playing really well and you want to bump him for a 30 odd year old forward at the end of his career? And then if he can't make the 13, you're going to pay $500k plus to have him sit on the interchange.

In a 30 man squad you can afford to carry both. Teams who win trophies have great depth.

When Joe O and Twal can play lock if required? It is a very weak argument especially when we have deficiencies in other areas.

Neither are really locks, they can do a job there but haven't shown much ball playing

The team hasn't shown much in ball playing. That may change with Sheens' arrival. Finucane is a very limited player, at the end of his career and would be expensive.

As soon as Seyfarth is on he does a lot of ball playing, it's clearly something they want to do. Watch Finucane play he does a lot of ball playing for Melbourne himself he's got good hands.

End of the day I'm not too fussed if we don't get him because our pack is looking good but we've got cash we should look at quality players

A ball playing lock is one area the club wants to improve.

That’s an interesting aspect, playing above their pay grade. I don’t know what players are being paid but who else do you think is playing above their pay grade? Garner lately? Twal? Even Douehi?

Twal and Joffa are solid locks and good players but they don't really have the ball playing to their game

No there is a player in the under 6s who looks like he is going to be really good and we don’t want to block his development

That cracked me up?

Can you imagine the negotiations to get the kid into our junior system, “well were prepared to offer you $50 per week and as many Freddo Frogs as you can fit in your back pack”

Isnt that how we got BJ Leilua?

LOL, tad more than $50 per week and o believe the Freddo Frogs were substituted for Oporto’s vouchers

Their will be players become available as always that are not off contract , Lots happening at the knights with a full review of the football department, most likely heads will roll in the office and on the field, would be great if the club could swoop in on a Barnett, J Saifiti, or Connor Watson

I think Dylan Edwards nicked one of his Freddos

The Mitchell Pearce effect. I backed them for the spoon this year but I think the Dogs have them covered.
