Hastings played full back last night. Oliver was there too. I didn’t watch closely but the team is having a hard go of it, think have a heap on injuries but fans calling for coaches head

Was this telecasted?
I only found the highlights.
Young Jake Mamo tearing it up! (Not a signing suggestion)

It was on this morning it is not worth watching, clearly Hastings is not a fullback & I hope we didn’t pay much for Gildhart he looks nothing more than a solid first grader, watching Blake Austin again brought back memories

It's weird Hastings Is at fullback he's not fast/mobile enough

He was only a year or 2 from being NRL ready when he was 12

That's when the tigers signed him

He is now 24 and struggles to have an impact in the u6's

Lodge to Warriors seems official. It’s amazing they can sign anyone given there’s no indication when they can go home. I don’t think them playing at home in 2022 is any certainty.

Our next target is Harley Smith-Shields. Pretty cool name, so that's a good start.

I know the state of the club isn't the best but where are the ambitious players who back themselves enough to be the player who turns the WTs fortunes around?
Someone under the Thurston or Tommy Turbo mould. Super competitive, a winning attitude and a big set of balls who is unfazed by any of our history, challenges or limitations.
I can respect footy player's decisions to seek glory and them not seeing us as an option but I'm totally sick of being a bargaining chip for those whose intentions are not the best.
It's the last thing we need.

Five hit-ups and a bomb is not really the type of football that attracts good players.

I occasionally teach hip hop (dance) and some games when I've watched us play it's usually reminded me of the under 5's classes.
Most have two left feet and in group dance routines, they are so out of sync, it isn't funny. It's like if the NRL were the MTV VMAs we'd be winning the worst choreographed music video hands down.

His future father in law is the head of recruitment, he was allegedly a done deal at Penrith in April but his manager didn’t agree to a medical, I don’t think he had many options.

So we have all this money available and no one to spend it on :face_palm:
So besides Dale Funicane who is available we could target ??
Even the Cheese is not available so our luck we might end up keeping Packer or Joey.. (god I hope not)
We don't need anymore juniors as we have plenty we desperately need experienced players so fingers crossed the powers have some sort of back up plan.

Our lower grades are doing well, we are going to need the cap sorted when the time comes to lock them up. There are some ruthless clubs which will stop at nothing to prey on our future stars.

With packer & BJ gone next year that frees up 1.4 million.
If you have to spend 95% of the cap & we can't sign any top line players not that there is much to buy for next year, What do we do with the cash ?

Has Egan Butcher re-signed with the Roosters? I know he is young but he is getting NRL experience with the Roosters. He would be a good acquisition for WTs.

Correct and with the inclusion of Sheen and Kimmorley hopefully we can be more certain of the top classed ones and lock them away before others poach. They have a lot of experience to draw from and you add Madge and Farah to that we might be on a winner here.

I am fine with the club ceasing negotiations with TPJ as paying overs does not lead to success.Let another club destroy themselves for years by overpaying players(dogs have been doing it for years and will undoubtedly continue to do so)
I would have liked him at the club but certainly not at the price mentioned,he has issues on and off the field and because of this alone he is nowhere near worth 700k

Whatever happened to all those players that were calling Madge asking to play here?

They were calling him to advise they're not interested because he is the coach. 🙂

But how do you then get the juniors to stay if we are going to get smashed like we have so many times this season

Thye have already proven they aren't a loyal clubman ....why would they show any more loyalty to their 2nd club who finished 11th ....or even worse .....we become a transit centre .....exactly what 3 players who were our own juniors did .......
