Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think that Cronk option is a very expensive experiment ….. a short term solution to a long term problem.

While im not sold on signing Cronk, short term solutions are exactly what we need. Cronk is the short term while Brooks is the long term. We need results next year. Year after year we build, look to the future etc etc…where has that got us? We need quick fix in some areas, we cant comtinue with the "look to the future" attitude. The future is now.

agreed
having someone of cronk's influence around the club is the greatest thing we can ask for.
top it off with a future halves' coach contract along with his media gig and we can really lure him.

Gela-Mosby is listed as a fullback on Zero Tackle. If anyone here has ever seen play fullback how did he go? I've only ever seen him play wing.

Widdop confirmed re-signed by Dragons this morning, 4 years reported $3.6M = $900K p.a. Wonder where Dragons got the money to up the offer so significantly?

Not unhappy to see him off our radar.

Taqele Naiyaravoro scored a couple of good tries on the wing for the Waratahs last night. I wonder if he'd be interested in coming back.

X2

I get the impression Brooks will do well with a mentor. He has never really had one. Seems like a nice enough kid who will listen and learn. Moses on the other hand…..

Gela_moseby was vey good as a fullback. Broke all sorts of try scoring records in the U/20's

He had a mentor in Anasta who barked all the orders and positioned the side whilst Brooks controlled the ball. I thought it worked quite well as Braith was on his last legs.

Is there a reason why we can't offer Cronk over a million dollars a season?

We could easily afford it

The daily telegraph reported that he doesn't want to make a decision until after origin but its the daily telegraph. Apparently the source was Cronks manager.

Dont cleary and cronk have the same manager?

This seem like a pretty do-able backline:
1\. Gideon Gela-Mosby
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Taane Milne
4\. Moses Suli
5\. Dane Gagai
6\. Connor Watson
7\. Luke Brooks

or:

1\. Connor Watson
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Taane Milne
4\. Moses Suli
5\. Gideon Gela-Mosby
6\. Josh Reynolds
7\. Luke Brooks

Like the first option ….. Reynolds option ONLY at a reasonable/realistic price. We should not be throwing high $s at him. Please
