It should also be noted that he was quite neutered in his role with the Dragons. Part of the stipulations to his punishment and the option to be a part of a coaching set up again was that he could not be anything more than an assistant.
Considering Trent Barrett and Cameron Ciraldo were heavily praised for their roles in shaping the Panthers side last year it makes you wonder how involved he really could have got?

HIAs a concern for sure. Though from memory I think we wanted to keep him but classically our management was slow to get it done and he went north instead.

Not a fan of Flannagan at all to be honest. Even as an assistant at the dragons he didn't do much. Neil Henry as an attack coach is a good shout though.

Neil Henry is not qualified to tie Flanagans shoe laces. Flanagan is one of the best technical coaches in the game. Best signing we could make as an assistant.

I worry about Flanno - don't see him at all as a team player and his past issues indicate poor character. He doesn't seem a guy who deserves respect. Dragons D wasn't all that great this season.
Dean Pay would be a better defence coach in my view.
What about the attack coach - who is that going to be??? Certainly not the same as this season please!!! Our attack was often very poor and predictable.

He's one I wouldn't mind bringing back.

I was disappointed when he left us - one player who, like Seyfarth always puts in out on the field, not to mention his defensive technique and linespeed is excellent.

Absolutely, aside from Jordan Hill who spent most of the season injured, Dillon is the quickest player in the the WT Flegg team.

Going off his highlights I see a bit of Reese Walsh style in him.

I almost think he's a Tedesco/Papenhuyzen hybrid. he looks a very very good prospect. he has the strength, pace and evasion required to return the ball and make things happen off attacking shapes, but I was just as excited by his long balls, even though they need some work. he has all the tools, just needs some refining. wouldn't surprise me if he moves Laurie to 6 or 14 in the next few years.

I see him as our long term fullback and he reminds me more of Papenhuyzen with how he moves - absolutely electric off the mark and not afraid to play through the middle. Covers the 100m in about 11 seconds which is on par with Pap. Jordan Hill is a little quicker and hopefully Hartigan can convince him to stay.

What’s the current status with Hill? Was he signed , signing with Cutters or in talks with them? Is it due to the uncertainty around whether the comp will start up again next year?

WT have been late to the party in re-signing him due to his ACL injury. There's some moves planned to try and keep him as he's not quite locked into going to Mackay just yet.

Is he from Queensland originally? I know he was part of the Holy Cross footy team but do you know how long he has been in our system.

FLANNO IN TIGERS’ DEN?

Cronulla premiership-winning coach Shane Flanagan has emerged as a potential addition to Michael Maguire’s coaching staff at the Wests Tigers.

It is understood Flanagan is keen to return to the coaching ranks and will put up his hand to assist Maguire, who is on the lookout for a new member of his staff.

Flanagan has made no secret of his plans to step back into a full-time coaching role having spent this season in the commentary box with Fox League and 2GB.

The experienced mentor headlines a host of coaches already linked to the role, including Dean Pay, Brett White, David Furner and Shaun Wane.

Flanagan worked as an assistant last year at the Dragons in what was his first coaching position since leaving the Sharks at the end of 2018. He initially started as the attack coach but moved onto looking after the defensive side of the team.

The Tigers are on the lookout for a defensive specialist after Maguire’s assistant Wayne Collins was the big casualty of the Tigers’ highly publicised review.

Maguire will have a say into who he appoints but the decision will be left to the club’s football committee. Under the revised structure at the Tigers, Maguire has agreed to forego some of his autonomy in return for the club taking a more collaborative approach to their recruitment of his offsiders.

- Jordan is a local - lives in Putney, went to Gladesville Public and then Holy Cross
- Has a family link to Mackay and as they showed him some love, lined up potential suitable employment and a pathway to Cowboys he signed heads of agreement type doc
- Tigers finally got wind and made direct contact with family
- A meeting was discussed (Yet to be arranged)

Are you confident he stays?

The family just wants to see a proper plan around him development wise - not this 1 year stuff (Even if it has incentive clauses due to ACL concerns). He loves his teammates and the club and wanted to stay loyal.

Honestly - if the tigers pulled their fingers out - I would say 100%. Realistaclly, 50:50 ATM

Hiring Flanagan to have him waiting in the wings once Madge is inevitably is sacked. Planning ahead.

That would not surprise me. As long as Flanagan doesn't try to whiteant Madge, I have no problem with him as an assistant coach.

Having Flanagan in situ ready to slot in when the inevitable happens is great forward planning.

THats actually a pretty impressive reel for a change. Hate to say it but runs like Teddy.

Dont see it

Something about the way he lowers his body height as he hits top gear.

Think Ted had more speed at his age.

Don't know about that - Dillon can motor - he's on par with Papenhuyzen for speed.

Absolutely, aside from Jordan Hill who spent most of the season injured, Dillon is the quickest player in the the WT Flegg team.

Going off his highlights I see a bit of Reese Walsh style in him.

I almost think he's a Tedesco/Papenhuyzen hybrid. he looks a very very good prospect. he has the strength, pace and evasion required to return the ball and make things happen off attacking shapes, but I was just as excited by his long balls, even though they need some work. he has all the tools, just needs some refining. wouldn't surprise me if he moves Laurie to 6 or 14 in the next few years.

I see him as our long term fullback and he reminds me more of Papenhuyzen with how he moves - absolutely electric off the mark and not afraid to play through the middle. Covers the 100m in about 11 seconds which is on par with Pap. Jordan Hill is a little quicker and hopefully Hartigan can convince him to stay.

What’s the current status with Hill? Was he signed , signing with Cutters or in talks with them? Is it due to the uncertainty around whether the comp will start up again next year?

WT have been late to the party in re-signing him due to his ACL injury. There's some moves planned to try and keep him as he's not quite locked into going to Mackay just yet.

Is he from Queensland originally? I know he was part of the Holy Cross footy team but do you know how long he has been in our system.

They've done well recruiting talented youngsters into the club. It sounds as though this situation can be resolved well. I have my fingers crossed.
