Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Adam elliot 2021 stats: tackles 628 average of 38 per game
Post contact meters: Not even top 50
Offloads : Not top 50
Missed tackles: 52 average of 3 per game

Most of the stats he wasn't even top 50 in the nrl not the best resume

Elliot was playing good footy last year. There was a bit of hype around him but maybe he is just one of those guys that only turns up when it’s contract time.

If we are signing a player who is under contract its illegal for us to even speak to them about a contract until November 1 if we are we could get in some serious problems

Unless his club has given him permission to negotiate with other clubs?

Yep that’s true paws , we should be happy that we have signed nobody at this stage , after all there is none worth signing apparently. So if it’s true that we waiting til Nov 1 to see if other clubs are under the pump from salary cap then that must be a good thing wouldn’t we think

We acquired Laurie and Blore in this manner. Both have turned out to be terrific acquisitions. I hope it is a similar young player of high quality, either a centre or second row forward.

@pawsandclaws1 which clubs have given players permission in the past month that are props? Luke Thompson is my only thought

I'd say there may be a few clubs either pushing the salary cap boundary or have excellent young players that have had their progression blocked by top line players. A good offer from WTs where we can guarantee lots of NRL makes a difference imo,

Apart from pass out drunk, get naked on mad Monday in public, shag his team mates partner behind a shed and get it on in a public bathroom with an NRLW player what has Adam elliot done worth any Merit ? On field what does he bring to us?

Depends if you want a ball hog or not.

He isn't good at anything else.

Its going to be a very long month ahead.... :disappointed:

I don't believe the Club would consider Elliott. We have lots of very good young fellows of various Kiwi and Pacific Island backgrounds who are men of faith. Unacceptable behaviour of that type would not be well received.

People of faith don't mess around huh?

I have respect for their beliefs and also those of other players who are uncomfortable with that type of behaviour.

My grandfather told me years ago don't get involved with married women, women who are engaged or who have someone. It's great advice.

I think it's naive to think all people of faith don't play up too.

I wonder how all the Bulldogs juniors feel about all these imports that are holding them back from a shot at NRL level.

Another week and same old..... Nothing
It's easy to see why the media pick on us as we **couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery**..

Should hear more in 48 hours, but Todd Carney has apparently been approached for this role.

Don’t wear your good clothes or shoes.

He'd be be fun to have around, such a bubbling personality.

Maybe the Tigers can take the NRL by surprise and sign no NRL first grade players be a true underdog for season 2022

. . . . . . . and then really stun the NRL by not taking out the wooden spoon.

So would this playa be for 2022 or 2023?

It will be some washed up dud and it will be for 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 player option.
