I think Hodgson would be good for our pack - he is a strong leader on the field as well as a real "competitor" - definitely ticks those boxes. Just hope there's still a couple of seasons left in his body.

People talking stats need more perspective. Hodgson is an aggressive and crafty player with a good kicking game. Liddle is a mild speedster who struggles with decision making. On a team which has a lot of momentum Liddle would look really good, a poor man's Cook. On our team he gets bogged and sloppy.

Hodgson works well with little space, he has a deceptive slight of hand in his passing, he actively tries to lift his teammates in games and gets into the face of the opposition. Hodgson would work well at the tigers, I think he'd help a great deal with our attack and getting us out of bad situations with a good kick.

I agree with what you are saying and as one of the couple of people that discussed the stats. It was more in regards to how both have faired on an individual level this season given they had both come off serious injuries.

Hodgsons value undoubtedly would be measured in aspects greater then just statistical output however it is important to consider that his body is still capable, given all that you said regarding the way he play within the game, it’s still equally important for him to have the form and fitness to remain competitive.

What happens to the prop signing and 2 or 3 other 'good names' signings As mentioned a week or two ago?

They said forward but never said a prop.
Said a player we are desperately in need of.

And this was prior to Peachy being mentioned but supposedly was not him. I guess Michael Clarke had some news after all.

I already had a high opinion of Jacob. If true and he is prepared to put his view out there, he should be immediately made captain. That is real leadership.

Your opinions have just descended more and more into the cartoonish lately.

Going to be very boring death-riding Madge for the next 5 months until kickoff 2022, when there is 0% chance Madge will get hooked in the offseason, then weekly if we don't win enough early matches.

Eventually everyone will death-ride Madge in 2022 if we keep losing, but I suggest we all put that away until they at least play footy next year.

Agree mate. Injuries have crippled him. However, why would the club resign him if they didn’t want him. It’s just so incompetent

How is it?
We extended him at the start of the year with no other NRL options even on the table for next year 6mths ago.
If we didn’t sign him we have no leverage in a player trade deal.

Simpkin came on better than they thought (especially how limited game time he has been getting due to covid) and Liddle tried his guts out but he did make poor options and his legs ran out of steam towards the end of the year. It’s clear he isn’t right with Madge as well.

I think Liddle has alot to offer a club that will let him run and use his skills. He isn’t an organiser, link or setup man. Hodgson is on the back end of his career maybe has 1-2yrs max left in him. I think if we are serious about Simpkin doing a Liddle / Hodgson swap isn’t a terrible idea. Bringing Hodgson would also help our younger forwards as well as they need leadership big time.

Madge has no choice but to improve, Sheens likes a good scheming hookers and Hodgson ticks a few boxes on various scales that Liddle doesn’t.

Why is it clear he isn’t right with Madge?

I believe he also mentioned the player was currently contracted to another club as well which also fits this scenario.
