That’s secondary. We can make do if he gets injured. Atm, we’re cooked in the halves if Brooks goes and we don’t have a straight swap lined up

Here's an idea Johns. How about we get Ponga and you can give Luke that new start you say he deserves-if he wants to go and if we want to let him go.

I think Ponga is a shoe in for the Dolphins personally. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s their first signing.

Offering 1.4mill a season he is a shoe in ,the problem with that is he will have all the expectations on his shoulders .. that might not be a good thing in the long run!

That’s what Latrell said about our offer, he didn’t want the pressure of carrying the team?

Can't blame him.. took less money to join a more successful team where he would play better footy. Looked after himself and his career in the long run

Not sure knocking back $1m per season, is looking after himself, but he’s not here, so it matters little.

He got himself back into origin and is earning close to that now anyway - he's better off long term for sure. Would've been nicer for us if he came though ?

We're cooked with him too tbh.. we might be a little worse off for the short term but moving him on is better for both parties long term.

What we can get for him this year will be a lot more than what we will get next year..

Why would he want a compassionate release?

If he wants to move up to Newcastle because he wants a move out of Sydney and a fresh start. He wouldn't be the first player to move because they want a change of scenery and a fresh start after struggling at their old club for a while

If he did that he'd probably have to take a pay cut so not sure if he would go down that route or if he'll leave at all. Plenty of off season left to figure it out, Knights are certainly trying to get him over there

Talking about a player like that who has 2 years to run on his contract after his current club has come out and said he’s off limits. It’s poor form.
